more of this sh#t, BS is going to need to dedicate a forum to the would-be experts of 'moving up, and the intricate inside outs of fighter deals despite knowing sweet FA about whats ACTUALLY being negotiated back and forth by the parties in question'

Can we not get a Golovkin master thread, NSB is full of this lately.

I know people think Abel is some new Trainer but Abel been around for a VERY LONG TIME. With GGG he is just acting like he is New to the sport of boxing lol

But this is not really comparable to be honest! It was more money back when Don King and Bob Arum was in their PRIME. They had access to all type of investors willing to invest into the sport of boxing. Now in 2016, I think investors might be very reluctant to invest into boxing compared back then so how much money is available exactly. Oscar even said something leading up to the Canelo vs Liam Smith fight about it is going to take money to make GGG vs Canelo and how he was telling Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones that he is going to have to see the money to make Canelo vs GGG in Cowboys Stadium

Sorry, the big money is no longer available like it was for Mayweather and Pacquiao, seems like investors retired from Boxing with Mayweather

What matters is what they will generate together. Everyone knows this is a huge fight and expecting K2 to take a flat fee is just ****ing dumb. Why not just allow Oscar to put Tom on his knees and **** slap him a few times?

Here's the deal.... Abel is on record for stating that he enforced Golvokin to watch Chavez vs Edwin Rosariow when they started training... that it was the style he promised would make Golovkin big. When you look at that fight, Golovkin seems to have mimicked that style from the left jab, body shot setups, pressuring, smuthering, etc...

So, its obvious either Abel is a big fan of Chavez or he's just banking off that style, and hence the marketing for "Mexican style" and coincidentally Chavez and Golovkin loving each other in press. I take it that Abel and Sr. have a respectable connection and friendship, which is why he can't say truly that Chavez ducked Norris since it was significant weight barrier...it's one of the few things Abel has said honestly and humbly.

So all that being said, there seems to be contradictions with the greatness logic from Abel. THe only thing saving GGG and Abel is that truly want all the belts at all "costs." Golovkin is not in the age gap for when Julio and Norris were brought up as comparisons. Abel also acknowledges the catch from his own guy, Norris, for the mega 10 million Chavez fight. The point is the Mexican fanbase. They need to take the fight understand their place. As others have said, Abel isn't new to this given these detailed circumstances and relationship or respect for Chavez.

"For me the perfect year would be Cotto, Chavez in Sept., and Ward at the end of the year, that's a perfect year for me." -Abel 2014

Would there have been PPV upside for Chavez vs Norris?
