Are you really comparing an atg to a would've could've should've fighter in ggg?

If things go to script, Alvarez has his return fight come January/February, the Saunders fight basically lined up for May [PPV], and then the possible Cotto rematch as a bigger event in Spetember [PPV].

With a middleweight belt around his waist again (and the WBO sanctioning rules being what they are), Alvarez can basically focus on taking on any fight that he wants, with the fanbase that's already with him sticking around no matter what.
yes, if ggg is being offered 10 Mil plus a reasonable ppv cut he should take it. The issue is, Oscar flip flops on whether there is a ppv cut being offered and he's proven to be not the most trustworthy or forthcoming guy. Ggg isnt a nobody and while Canelo deserves a bigger cut, Ggg is an established champion who has sold out arenas in UK, NY and LA as well as a staple on hbo. Fair is fair. Yes Canelo can move on a fight lesser opponents and will still have fan support as he has some of the most gullible fans ever. However, his ppv sales have gone from 900k to 400k down to below 300 k so the support is dwindling and he won't sell close to a Mil with anyone other than ggg.

This is not surprising LOL. As soon as the WBO president made those remarks last week I knew what was up.

...Alvarez-Golovkin, as a PPV in it's own right, doesn't do 1m PPV buys.

In case you missed it, Golovkin went to PPV with the Lemieux fight, ended up doing over 100k PPV buys, and K2 was so shook by the actual number that they've openly refused ever trying another PPV with Golovkin were it not against Alvarez.

The fact that you seem to think that Golovkin not only deserves a $10m payday, he also deserves a far lower downside share on the PPV, without having the actual business to justify anything, is odd.

At $65, an 1m PPV buy event (pulling the distributors share away from the fight) gets you about $35m into the pot for the fighters/promoters. Assuming a $10m net share off of the live gate and (once you pay the promoters), you're talking about Golovkin getting $10m and $25m to Alvarez (a 72/28 share on the proceeds, and basically a 3:1 split).

Yet Golovkin's supposed to get more than that?

first, yes Canelo vs ggg is likely to do around a mil in ppv buys as its the biggest fight that can be made in boxing right now. If promoted right and put on a Mexican holiday weekend, it's a lock. Second, not offering a ppv upside is a creative way to duck the fight but try and save face. Handing over a belt was the first tactic, and now trying to shortchanged an established name on getting some ppv cut is another. Oscar saw this work to success when mayweather offered it to pac so he's running with it because he knows there are some simpletons out there who will think that it's a fair offer when it really isn't. Pac turned it down when mayweather offered it and eventually cot 4 times more than what mayweather was offering.

PacMan vs Canelo would outsell a fight with Lil G any day of the week. If you believe Roach he wants PacMan next fight to be either a rematch with Mayweather or a fight with Nelo. Lil G can accept the $10 mil offer or he can go kick rocks. There is no if's or but's about it Lil G is the B side accept the A side terms and take his shine or continue fighting bums like Wade or Rubio.

very clever to try and flip flop my quote but it's full of inaccuracies as Canelo has not "sold out" arenas in all of those locations nor are your ggg ppv numbers and prices accurate to show dwindling popularity. At the end of the day, I'm siding with the fighter that wants the fight to happen and you're siding with the fighter and promotional company who clearly have continuously avoided the fight. You, just like them are probably scared to see Canelo get handled and beaten up so you will agree with the coked up tales Oscar feeds the sheep.
