Trout being a better name than anyone on GGG's resume is irrelevant here (and it's also debatable). Cotto maybe, big maybe, is a better boxer than GGG, and that's prime Cotto, not the current version. I have always said Cotto is a fundamentally sound boxer who does everything right but does nothing spectacular, and I still stand by that statement. He is a complete fighter to me but that doesn't make him better or equal to GGG, who also is a complete fighter but has attributes he is the best at currently p4p or among the very best, and that will set him apart against any opponent.

Also, you keep bringing up Cotto like Canelo walked through him and dominated him. Do you realize how close that fight was? many people had Cotto winning. AN OVER THE HILL COTTO. That's like a Khan fan hyping up the Maidana win.

GGG is a master boxer. Canelo is not. Doing a few upper body weaves against an opponent who is already missing you, and landing a few counters in a fight or two, does not a master boxer make.

Any fight will show you his ring IQ. He doesn't need to be "in with a thinker". It's what he does in the ring and how he does it not who against.

The ability to control the distance moving in any direction, the ability to change his approach at will mid round or between rounds, the different flavors to his offense, his ability to maintain control and adapt, the way he finished opponents, all of these are on display in every fight of his in recent memory.
