GGG has a million excuses for a fight not getting made. That's Ward, Lara, Jacobs and now Canelo. At some point GGG fans have to tell him to look in the mirror. They wont though, its eeeeeverybody else's fault though.

Because GGG will be the B-Side just like he was against Brook. Sht he won't even have to travel at all for this fight. He lives in L.A. same time zone as Vegas. He could be in Vegas in 45 mins.

We know he's the B side. But that doesn't mean he should accept a flat fee offer from a huge fight that would generate millions in revenue.

The fight has realistic expectations of surpassing $60m. So why should GG accept $10m, just because Canelo is more popular and he's had the opportunity to fight big named fighters in the past?

Nobody should have an issue with Canelo getting more. But he doesn't deserve significantly more. He is not Floyd Mayweather. He's just done a fight that flopped at 250,000 buys. And if you take Floyd, Cotto and Khan out of the equation and look at his recent fights against Kirkland, Angulo, Lara and Trout etc, they aren't much better.

How hard is that to comprehend?

Again, he deserves a bigger split. But a $10m flat fee from a fight that could do huge numbers is a joke.

Nobody should have an issue with K2 wanting a fair split.

It's simple, give Ggg a fair percentage of the ppv. That way if it does great he makes more, if it's a dud he just makes his guarantee. That's how it's always done for mega fights

Yup they want to pay good fighters SHT!!! And want a BAZILLION dollars from the Mayweathers, Canelos, PACs, Cotto, of the world. I'm and his fans truly believe he's worth a 50/50 split with the A-Siders.

K2 wanted to pay Ward 90/10 split. Jacobs 75/25. And lied their @ss off about Saunders $6,000,000 life changing money.

I don't even care if Canelo gets to BJS first and beats him. Because all that will do is put more pressure on him to unify with GG.

Once either guy takes BJS and Jacobs out of the equation, there'll be no other relevant fights for either one of them.

K2 know this which means they don't have to accept an offer at this stage.

They're heading towards each other and the interest will continue to build. The more interest builds, the bigger the pot.

K2 don't have to do a damn thing at this stage as they know that Canelo's options at MW are already limited.

They can hold out until they've got no one left to fight and the whole world are screaming for it. At which point Oscar will have to sit down and negotiate. So yes, you're right, $10m is life changing money. But he's just got $5m for Brook and he can hold out for much more than $10m.

The only way this fight doesn't happen, is if Oscar point blank refuses to negotiate or Canelo doesn't stay at MW for long and he ends up moving back down. But if they did that, it would be Bowe-Lewis x 1000. They'd never live it down.

I agree and REALLY think GGG / Canelo does at least 1 million PPV buys. Probably around 1.5 - 2 if ALL the belts are on the line! I don't think I've ever seen that before?? What would really be AWESOME is if GGG vs. Canelo was for Hopkins Record??? I believe GGG is only 4 fights away from breaking it??? That could line up PERFECTLY in Sept. 2017.

And Hopkins was helping train Canelo to stop him...

250k PPV buys for Canelo's last fight, which went down on one of the Mexican holiday dates he was counting on to give his numbers a big boost after Floyd retired. That's pressure.

And saying 2 guys are on collision course is not the same thing as asking one of them to sign a contract accepting a B side flat fee a whole year before the fight.

Can you give us one example of that ever happening before?

Thought not. This isn't Oscar planning ahead. This is Oscar deperately trying to stop Canelo's career from turning into a train wreck.

the only pressure about this is not fighting unknown fighters in ppv, but still they made a good profit out of it whitout affecting hbos budget... i think they learned the lesson and will do better ppvs on the future, that doesnt mean canelos ppv career is over without ggg...
canelo has had big fights already and has plenty of time to have more in the future, ggg at 34 or 35 has limited options and is struggling to even make decent fights....

Canelo obviously has age on his side. But in the near future, he doesn't actually have better options than what GG has.

He's just stripped naked to weigh-in for Smith, so I think his JMW days are over.

He's not big enough to go to SMW.

He's about to officially move up to MW.

Unless either of them lose, once BJS and Jacobs have been taken out of the equation, there won't be anyone left to fight who's relevant.

Check Cotto's resume and then check GGG's resume! Think about that.

They're resumes are pretty much irrelevant at this stage.

What's relevant is how much they can make if they both come together for a fight.

You are talking about millions of dollars in revenue. Which means that a flat fee offer is horse manure.
