  • canelo already has a loss -- a far more embarrassing one -- on his record

I don't know why he's been ducking GGG so hard. After that embarrssing "155 title run" this additional nonsense has damaged his reputation more than just taking the fight losing would have.

GGG vs Saunders would do just as well on Sky PPV, if not better, and would bring in a lot more from the gate, because Warren would stage it in a football stadium, rather than the 02.
      Great post.

      I agree entirely.

Now the U.K. fans have seen GG, they can't wait to see him again. He's big news in Britain. (I'm English)

With a good promotion, it could definitely match the Brook fight, but I think it would surpass it.

      • Every minute Canelo sits, hiding from Golovkin, at 154 his marketability gets weaker. Every minute GGG squats at 160, knocking out all comers, his marketability gets stronger.

-just saying, with apologies to Captain Willard

A fight should be worked out fairly, based on what each guy brings to the table.

          Both guys need each other.

Canelo can't make huge money without GG.

How can you compare GG-Jacobs to GG-Canelo?

Why are you so biased all of the time?
So you are presuming that the ppv buys in the UK were all to see Golovkin? Or were they to see Brook tackle the so called monster. The historical numbers say the latter. This is why you don't focus on one data point in any statistical analysis.

Truth...Alvarez made roughly 5M to fight a nobody and about 15M to fight Khan. Golovkin on the other hand made 2M to fight a nobody and 5M to fight Brook.

Seems to me Alvarez can make the Golovkin money up in two fights against named fighters at 154 or 160 where as Golovkin would have to fight 3 to 4 times to make to make the flat fee offer fighting anyone else not named Canelo Alvarez.

I do know that many Americans have no clue who Saunders is and personally I think hes a C quality type fighter who got LUCKY on winning a BELT that two main attractions want!!! Your probably right Canelo would do way better fighting someone else besides Saunders. I just know that belt would help him out a LOT in future negotiations with GGG.
            Billy's not a C class fighter.

He has a lot of ability. But unfortunately, he hasn't had many big fights and exposure.

In my honest opinion, he's a better fighter than Kell Brook.

              Ha!

That made me laugh out loud.

How anyone can defend this is beyond me.

Likely, but Saunders will fight Alvarez first.

                  • yeah golovkins terrified im sure. GGG fought a welterweight and beat him to a pulp in 5 rounds. Canelo fought a welterweight and lost every round. He also smashed canelo to bits in sparring, so yeah, i bet he really has nightmares about canelo lol
