why? what kind of moron accepts a BAD deal a year ahead of time???? There is plenty of time to negotiate and if 9 months go by and they havent been able to make a better deal THEN fine go ahead and take the $10 mil.

But to accept it now would be ignorant. It wont make the fight happen a single day sooner......

"Golovkin haters", like most objective boxing fans, want to see if Golovkin is as legit as the spin machine wants to have people think.

Saul Alvarez was already a budding star, but folks held things back because he hadn't shown anything against real competition.

And then Alvarez was set to fight Paul Williams; the fight ended up not happening, but the first indication that Alvarez wanted to prove that he was a legit fighter (he'd already gone through the aging vets at that point, too).

After then being on the verge of fighting Victor Ortiz (who proceeded to get beat by Josesito Lopez), Alvarez has had a pretty legit 8-fight run, and no one with any sense is even bothering with the "but can he really fight" nonsense.

Golovkin is 34 years old, has HBO willing to host 3-4 fights for him every year (almost regardless of the opponent), has been a professional fighter for a decade, and has still yet to fight anyone worth actually fighting.

... or he could just spend his time knocking off the boogeymen near his weight.

No one wants to fight Erislandy Lara. No one wants to fight Demetrius Andrade. Vanes Martirosyan is always tough to beat. Michel Soro is still looking for a big fight at whatever weight. Hassan N'Dam is a rugged fighter who's never been stopped. Jose Uzcategui is the type of physical matchup that would make for a dangerous fight as is (6'2, young/fresh, big punching super middleweight), as is "Porky" Medina (6'1, big frame, young veteran who comes to scrap).

The 4 junior middleweights have all made it clear that coming up to 160lbs isn't an isssue, and the three mentioned super middleweights are far better in-between fights than the stuff that Golovkin has been happy to tick over with.

Pay Saunders the ransom for the shot at his belt, deal with the governing bodies whenever they mandate a fight, but spend the rest of your time taking on actual interesting fights

Sanchez and even his delusional fans say he can beat Kovalev and Ward..we ask him to prove it and ya'll say that is asking to much

So what do ya'll want?? really what?? are ya'll content with him fighting no-hopers and just saying he beats everyone without having to prove it while calling people online names who ask him to prove himself?

The guy seems to have a decent skill set and has power and toughness but damn yall dont want him to pay people to get in the ring with him nor accept a career high payday to get someone in the ring with him..so what do ya'll want???
Everybody wants Golovkin to fight better opposition, Larry, the only disagreement is over why those fights ain't happening and how much he should bend to make 'em happen. Trying to explain why those fights ain't happening is not the same as not 'wanting' them to happen.

And who is 'ya'll'? Lot of different posters here - talking like all Golovkin fans act the same ain't gonna help your case. And they ain't the only ones calling names either.

I want to see him in big fights, GGG wants the big fights. Jacobs said he needed more time, Canelo is injured and his flat fee offer wont be accepted.

Interestingly Schaefer has given his view on the flat fee offer, pretty sensible response really:

Paying Jacobs sets a bad precedent, *** him, Canelo it's a shame he only wants to fight him a year from now, which considering his recent actions has good odds of being bullsht unless Golovkin is shot by then.

Normally I don't agree with Larryx, but holy **** he destroyed every GGG fan in this thread.
