Just as long as both sets of fights are active, with enough punches thrown and landed, i'm good.

I hate fighters like Crawford who run while not landing any punches throughout the rounds. Just pot-shotting. Now that's boring.

So Gatti/Ward Barrera/Morales1 and Bowe/Holyfield1 were boring for you?

If so, you're the only so called boxing fan who's said anything like that where those fights are concerned.

Going into those fights where you thinking "Gee I hope this goes the distance" or were you hoping that there was going to be a kock out.
Those fights were great but not a damn person was hoping it went the distance going into it.

Quit deluding yourself and trying to be a "Hipster fan"

The point I was making is that 12 round fights can be the most exciting fight there can be. No KO's are needed. You just watch in awe as the fight swings back and forth with you not wanting it to be over.

It has nothing to do with being a "hipster fan".

You missing the point of the question. The question is what impresses you more? A KO or a Shutout. And the answer is simple.
No fan goes into a fight wanting it to go the distance. Yes a fight going the distance can be amazing. but no one before the first bell WANTS IT TO GO THE DISTANCE. not the fans and not the fighters.
So obviously then KOs impress fans more because all of them do not want the fight to go the distance.
And anyone who tells you different is a Liar.

My point exactly. I think this question was just brought up to justify certain boxers' claim to greatness.

Dude i know right. The internet is full of people who love to say they prefer long drawn out fights. But in all honesty they want to see the guy the support knock out thier opponet.

the guy who knocked out the 30 guys while losing a few rounds here and there is definitely more impressive to me than the guy who UD'd those same 30 guys without losing any rounds.

Ha ha ha Actually it wasn't - but yeah I can see how it looks - the 30 fights number I just pulled out of my ass, but it might have been there cos I have been thinking about Ward and Kovalev a fair bit recently. No actually the thread was a counterpoint to Larrys Defense vs Power thread which I felt was designed to elicit a particular response. If I had anyone in mind I wanted to keep it to myself to avoid slanting the responses, it is genuinely meant as a hypothetical question - but it wasn't Ward or Kovalev. Honestly.
