Very good insight from bob arum on the dealings with tv newtworks.

One thing is for sure old man bob is at least trying to market boxing with the times, other promoters are still doing outdated methods.

The fight will do around 150 thousand ppv buys, but it will be exciting and has a great undercard.

arum is a snake and this article needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but it's definitely a step up from the typical crap on bscene. interesting, to say the least.


we all know damn well HBO wouldn't touch this fight with a ten foot pole, but it was interesting to hear arum's remarks on how they basically finance these fights.


it doesn't sound like arum and TR have a ton of cash on hand. they're a small company in the context of a fight that generated close to a billion in revenue and was betwen the two highest paid athletes on the planet that year. very interesting article. arum is llying through his teeth, per usual, but you can still find some very interesting stuff.



this fight is going to flop. i hope they've kept their costs low, or else they're going to get their butts handed to them. i literally thought it was saturday .

Between Manny's performance in the Floyd fight and his subsequent comments regarding gays, its not hard to understand why HBO would not want to be working with Manny/TR on this fight.

The fight on paper is not the kind of fight people seem interested in. The other fights may be good but despite what morons on NSB have posted fans buy the PPV for the headline fight. Its not a PPV worthy fight.

TR must see some long term benefit for doing the fight by themselves. If as rumored it means Manny's deal with HBO is over, the long term payoff could be fights against a guy like Broner that leads to a rematch with Floyd.

I will not be ordering this fight.
