"Many" consider Ruiz an easier route to a world title than Joshua? How about everybody who has half a grain of sense, isn't delusional or isn't part of the Ruiz team. Nothing against Ruiz since he is undefeated and is willing to face Parker who should be an easy favorite but come on now, Joshua may not be proven on the top level yet but Ruiz has already struggled to hurt mediocre competition. I'd be surprised beyond belief if Parker doesn't totally obliterate him.

The difference is who makes the profit, and how much profit. Funding soccer at grass roots and up level is beneficial to a number of different people, not just one person or organisation.

Just as funding a certain drug is beneficial for a group of people.

There's a balance to be made.

FWIW I'm also totally against the government grants that go to frikken golf tournaments in the tourist centres. That's a rort too.

I don't know how I forgot the Bergman fight, hell - I was even sober through the whole thing!

Count me in to try and get tickets if it is kept here, just a short trip up the highway.

I would imagine a big boxing event in NZ will positively impact business there. Like you say, it's all in who gets what afterwards. I wonder how the govt subsidizing NFL over here is delved out. Do taxpayers get a piece of the action from NFL profits? Kinda doubt it.
