Youre right there about using the government funding for the event. Although i think its ok to an extent as it is a major historical sporting event to take place in NZ.

I'd like to be able to watch Parker live for once. But it would be nice for his country to watch their first HW championship win at home. He'll get to defend it there one day.

Parker's gonna rain destruction on this big Mexican.

            Samoan vs. Mexican heavyweight brawl!

No boxing fan should miss this.

Probably the honorable thing to do - DUCO is a dirty word in New Zealand right now.

It really seems like Bob Arum is going to have to step in and take this fight stateside - shouldn't be a drama though. Would be nice to have Parker win at home, but he's going to be going overseas in the future anyway, might as well get it started.

If I remember correctly, his only fight outside NZ was against that Nacimento chap on the Klitchko/Leapai undercard.

Wonder if the NZ citizens get miffed when their govt helps fund soccer over there? Oh well, at least there's still a good chance the fight happens... even if it's over here.

Don't worry mate, mark my words, this fight is taking place in NZ ;-) Parker has fought 3 times outside of NZ. He also fought Keith Thompson in the States and Bergman in Samoa.
