youre going to get a real shock in the ring mate. youre a pampered diva, had it all your own way the last few years, fighting overmatched opponents, sueing managers, people telling you how great you are cause you beat carl froch by a round, five years ago. when that first big shot lands you will panic, youll realise youre finally fighting someone who can fight back, a hungry proven champion who hits twice as hard as you. you say you dont enjoy boxing, well after this fight you are going to like it even less.

One overlooked aspect of this fight is that while Kovalev has much more of a bully reputation than Ward, Ward is a much better bully in the ring. He knows how to muscle fighters around. That will make it even harder on Kovalev if he gets frustrated and sloppy.

That's why I think Kovalev will win. Ward will not be able to bully him.

Some people think that Kovalev is just a big puncher & bully. BHop made it his business to school the unskilled younger fighters who thought they could whip on an old man. But when he fought Kovalev, it was BHop who got schooled & that night, he became old. A mere big puncher & bully could not have done that to him...

That's why I think Kovalev will win. Ward will not be able to bully him.

He doesnt need to and its not his style , Ward is like a surgeon that is super efficient , he wins with skill and very subtle adjustments in positioning .
Geez Floyd must tell you guys you dont have to be a power puncher to be able to beat bigger stronger guys .

Kovalevs only advantage in this fight is power, hes facing a more complete and versatile fighter. It takes more than just power to beat a guy like that you have to match them with equal boxing skills and kovalev simply cant do that because he isnt as skilled.

I think they're close enough to equal at range that if Ward can't muscle Kovalev inside, Kovalev can win the fight in those range exchanges.

I am picking Ward, but I'm not underestimating Kovalev's skill or ability to win rounds off Ward. Especially early on.
