Marketing is part of a fighters skillset now, as are PPV numbers apparently. I, like many here are a real fan, but some of the fights you have listed are reaching and shows exactly what poor matchmaking has reduced us to accepting.
Which fights in particular that I listed are you talking about? most of these fights are taking place at the right level...you think Jesse Hart is going to be thrown in there with GGG? you can argue Ortiz vs. Thompson is not a great fight but nobody is getting in with Ortiz what should Luiz do? get older? I like this fight...a lot of so called 'fans' are never satisfied : take the Pac vs. Vargas fight people on this board are complaining about it too!!! I mean Vargas is a primed champion! take into account Pac is not in his prime anymore its a close fight in my opinion and their styles should make for a exciting fight.

    • Demetrius Andrade vs. Jack Culcay is for the WBA regular title.

    • Valdez vs. Hiroshige Osawa - Osawa is #1 in the WBO.

    • Jamie McDonnell vs Liborio Solis - For the WBA World bantamweight title, come on Solis is #2 and a former world champion current top 20 at this weight wins over Kono,Kameda! dont look at the record and dismiss this fight ( dont be a boxrec warrior).

    • Javier Fortuna vs Omar Douglas - Fortuna is headed back to a world title but hes not taking soft touches this kid is undefeated and can fight.

    • Jesse Hart vs Andrew Hernandez - Hart is a promising prospect hes rated in the top ten at middleweight by the IBF,WBA,WBO, and Hernandez is top five by the WBA both are in the top 20 in the world winner should break into the top ten and might get a shot at a world title.

    • Vincent Legrand vs Valery Yanchy - this kid is top five in the IBF,WBA at Flyweight if you scout this division he must of caught your eye by now....maybe its just me but I like to actually know who is coming up in the sport...I just don't sit around waiting for the major networks to tell me if someone is good.

You guys need to become informed as to why a lot of these fights are taking place a promoter cant always just cut ahead of the line by making demands for his fighter or bribing his way to the top : we got rules to follow...so why complain about these fights when you know in many instances that the sanctioning body made these decisions? we have rankings for a reason...its not always about the greed of promoters ; its fun to watch prospects develop into world champions before the networks tell you they are special......well it is for me at least.

I dont care if all of their best gather for one mega PPV in one night...I have zero interest. I like F1 racing but that doesn't mean Im going to watch Nascar.
I actually agree with you. I myself have never watched MMA either, but I watch ESPN and Fox Sports and see how integrated into the culture Ronda Rousey and Jon Jones and Miesha Tate have gotten. You can't even see boxing on major sports networks anymore most of the time, whereas there's all kinds of reality shows pre-shows and post-shows for UFC on TV constantly, so I know that boxing isn't doing well because nobody seems to care about Ward/Kov except for us.

MMA has all of the celebrity support. It's crazy how far boxing's profile has fallen because of bad management.

All that is irrelevant to us as true fans, Hockey and Soccer were ahead of Boxing a few years ago maybe they still are good for them...I dont feel a need to validate my sport to a bunch of MMA fansboys -- I talk about it because some clown brings it to the forum...but they cant keep boxers name out of there mouths maybe its because without boxing their sport would not exist...I wish people would shut up about it! I dont see ESPN interviewing NFL players on a regular basis about whats going on in the NBA...stay in your lane. These bloggers and Youtubers are the worst they try to cover both sports because they get more views and some have the nerve to ask Boxers questions about MMA.....Im like please dont answer that question! slap that mofo we are here to talk boxing...I dont want to hear about none of that ****.
