Yep he is a creeper. He may not be the fastest or the most powerful, but technically he got it down and boy is very well schooled for a young fighter.

Let em grow and GGG will have somebody to worry about.

Im predicting it right now. Julian Williams beats GGG when it happens.

What i'm trying to get across is that though JRock hasn't beaten anyone special yet, based on what we've seen when viewing his skill-set alone, he's ready for the likes of a Charlo.

If Lomachenko had started out building up his career as a pro in similar fashion to say Gary Russell, though he was blowing through completion we could clearly see that he had a skill set that would likely exceed at an elite level...

Of course that becomes knull and void if he gets sparked out in the first few seconds...which is unlikely given what we've seen from a skill perspective....

That's just not true or equatable. Lomachenko has shown exceptional skill against above average opposition (I've criticised his opposition but even at this stage it is better than Williams). On top of all that, lomachenko has a proven am pedigree which has set a better stage for him in the pros.

Williams has done nothing to warrant a title shot and isn't even in the top 15 of 2 sanctioning bodies but magically finds himself as no. 1 contender to the IBF title right when Charlo needed an opponent.

Trying to promote this fight as anything than a one sided beat down is stretching the facts. However, if Williams is competitive or even looks to win, it probably says more about the so called champion than the challenger.

I can't agree with this. This is the very same thing people criticize fighters for as well.

            Case in point...

We have a fighter in Canelo Alvarez who has proven that he is elite. People are critizing him for not fighting GGG until next year.

These same people will say that a fighter who is willing to step his competition up and fight a higher caliber fighter (JRock) doesn't deserve to fight a certain or opponent or doesn't deserve a title shot.

            Which one is it?

I love how you are speaking so confidently about a subject you obviously know nothing about about.

Williams has been chasing the top fighters for years now but has been placed firmly in the 'who needs him' bracket by pretty much everyone. He called Trout out to his face and Trout ducked him when the fight was ready to be made to fight Charlo (on top of that had the audacity to tell Charlo to 'get j rock for me' after the fight like a *****)

While he was waiting for the big name opponent he fought final eliminater after final eliminater to get himself up the ibf rankings and was eventually granted mando status so Charlo could no longer avoid the fight.

No we are here this is no way a one sided beat down to anyone who has watched both guys box or understands boxing. This is one of the best fights between pre prime fighters that could be made in the sport right now and i genuinely cant decide who i think will win

Did I say Williams didnt call anyone out? What's his calling anyone out got to do with it?

Please name me 2 world class fighters he has beaten.

You do realise the IBF probably has the worst mandos in boxing fight now? I assume you ranked Brooks mandos too because they fought eliminators too.

If he had done something more to earn the fight then, yeah sure, he should be fighting for the title. Plus, it's not like this Charlo can't have better opponents. Are you telling me Williams is the very best opponent or even the second or 3rd best opponents Charlo can find out there?

Canelo is receiving criticism because at one stage he has THE LINEAL middleweight crown and did not fight the best available middleweight out there, while openly calling him out. Not only that, he avoided the rest of the division and went back down to 154 to fight that divisions worst champion.

LIke I mentioned before, the top guys at 154, barring Canelo, are all run by one man and yet, in 18 months of these guys being at or near the top of their division, not one of these fights have been made. Andrade v either Charlo should have happened by now or Lara v one of these guys.

Edit: I've been dragged ofc by nonsensical discussion. The question of this thread is why are people sleeping on this fight? The answer is simple, no one cares of nor knows of Williams and it's not the best possible fight that could have been made in the division.
