My point when I said they fooled anyone is that they tried to clean their image by saying that in public just after beating the unknown Smith.

GGG wouldn't sign to anything one year before, and not for a flat fee. That wasn't very serious though I applaud the intention to actually do something to make that fight happen. Look at Kovalev vs Ward. The fight was agreed like one year before, but actual negotiation and contract were made three months before the fight. That's how it works.
