if you're implying that ward is gonna try and turn this into a brawl, you were probably one of the people who expected mayweather vs pacquiao to be a toe-to-toe war.

but this is on ppv, so even if ward did decide to brawl and go to war, nobody would see it. i'll be shocked if this breaks 200k buys.

thats the reason he needs to be more exciting, hes arguably americas highest rated fighter on the world stage and still noone is interested in watching him, they'd rather watch paint dry or go to bed early. THis is why im saying its such a big night for ward, if he entertains then americas got itself a new sporting hero cause people will watch the replays and be talking about his performance, or he can stink the joint out like he has in other fights. Its not too late for ward to leave a very different legacy to the one hes in danger of leaving currently

Kovalev has the three world title belts, he's finally in position where HBO is pondering putting money behind his fights, Kovalev has never been the underdog in a fight, and he's walking into a fight with Andre Ward with most of the boxing world being clear in their stance that Kovalev is the obvious underdog in a competitive fight.

To go with that, Kovalev heads into camp after laying out a **** performance against Isaac Chilemba, and you want to say that the pressure is elsewhere? lol

people will still have interest in kovalev if he loses due to his style. people are only clinging onto ward cause hes unbeaten, do you think anyones going to tune into watch him if kovalev beats him? Dawson was slung straight on the scrap heap when he started losing, people with boring styles dont get much sympathy when they lose

Being exciting is the last thing on the minds of Kov and Ward that element will just ride with the hype , the fighters are in battle mode and dont give a **** ass about anything but winning the fight .
You are bringing into this a whole bunch of stuff that the fighters dont even think about when in training for a big fight , the managers and promoters like fan friendly fighters but the fighters themselves do their job in the style that comes natural to them , excitement is PR and does not over rule winning , Floyd proved that .

lol alot of fighters lose their audience once they lose regardless of their style. only fighter today IMO that has kept his audience after a loss was broner but that has more to do with his personality bc his style didnt transition from 130,135 to 147 completely. lucas has an exciting style but once dsg picked him apart dude hasnt had the same aura since or viewership. david lemieux was being anointed after beating up gabe rosado and no network picked up his title fight vs ndam and his ppv with ggg flopped, and his fight this weekend wasnt picked up again. kov hasnt been a massive draw at any point in his career which is why hes often had to go to opponents territory to get things done. hardcore fans are often interested in fighters whether they win or lose, but kov losing by the same fashion like others have lose to ward where they are reduced to nothing will hurt whatever viewership among casual fans. chad dawson was in the same boat, fought some of the best guys but dude never even built an audience from the northeast where hes from. getting KTFO by adonis in canada where adonis is a big draw didnt help him. also getting stretch out vs ward in carson cali didnt help either along with losing to pascal in canada. his team should be blamed for never helping him build his own audience and seeing him lose in others backyards. the reality of this situation is you want andre ward to satisfy you as a fan when most reasonable fans are just happy getting this fight and nomatter what the outcome and style of the fight they are prepared to tune in.

End of the line for Kovalev.....yep Ward is going to strip him of everything he worked so hard for ( WBA,WBO,IBF ) mmmhhhm....yeah its going to suck being a contender once again, maybe he can enlist in the VADA program to get a shot at Stevenson's WBC title but I dont know he looks suspect to me.....yep....trying to get that 'Superman' Money in Canada is looking real good about now.....but Stevenson is going to tell him to kick rocks hes not poppin anymore S.O.G is whats up....time to pack your **** and head back to your country.

If Ward loses then everyone says, "meh, he was good but not great".

If Kovalev loses he will still be able to rebound with fan friendly fights and a possible rematch.

Either way, it defines both guys but neither man is a household name and neither man is all time great, so the loss/win won't change the boxing landscape.
