          • What a fantastic fight. I am so excited for tonight, I've been waiting to see Lomachenko against a murderous puncher like Walters.

The more experience Lomachenko gains as he continues to have more fights, I think the only type of fighter that would have a true chance against him is somebody with a huge punch. He's just too slick, smooth and masterful with his movement and punch output to get out maneuvered by somebody at his own game. It'd take a truly special skill set for somebody who's not a big puncher to have a legit chance at Lomachenko, IMO.

I think Lomachenko is definitely past the stage where even a rough, dirty, dog fight type of guy like Salido has a chance. Compare Lomachenko in his past couple of fights, to when he first started his pro career, and the difference is night and day. He's not gun shy anymore, he's not over analyzing, but simply taking what's coming at him and reacting beautifully.

Walters is exactly the type of guy that could spoil Lomachenko's run and make him pay. That hook is simply danger. Walters obviously hasn't been in the ring with a fighter with the majestic ability of Lomachenko, but Lomachenko has not been in the ring with a fighter like Walters yet. With the improvements Lomachenko has made in his last 5 fights, I think a fighter like Salido would be tailor-made for him, Lomachenko is simply too good and sure of himself now in the ring to be troubled by somebody who doesn't have the type of skills to play chess.

With Walters it's going to be different, and that's what makes this fight so intriguing. Walters not only has a huge punch/punchers chance, but he has the fluidity and speed to make Lomachenko have think about where he should be and where he can't be, and if Walters corner is smart and experienced (I dunno who he's trained by), they'll have him try and set some traps and see if they can catch Lomachenko getting lazy with his movement and angles- and if Loma does get lazy and isn't calculated with every step, an inch is all Walters needs to let that short hook go and end things.

Will that happen? I don't know, man, Lomachenko has been just that these last few fights- so calculated with every single step, slide and pivot, but the thing is that he hasn't had to be careful with his calculations, there has been nothing nobody could offer in return that would make him HAVE to question where he's at in the ring, including Martinez.

How dedicated is Walters to his boxing career? If he's got anything close to Loma's level of dedication, this is as close to a 50/50 fight as you can get, IMO (more so then Kovalev-Ward), and if this fight happened 4-5 fights ago for Lomachenko, I'm not sure he'd have an answer for Walters, I honestly would have to favor Walters in the fight as Walters is too good of a fighter for somebody to be hesitant to let their hands go against, you have to try to make it one-way traffic going TOWARDS Walters if anything, I think he's too good to be given the freedom to do what he wants.

With that said, I think Lomachenko is far too disciplined, smart and motivated to do anything in the ring tonight without a purpose. I think Lomachenko is going to launch a blitzkrieg type of assault, from all directions, at Walters, and I don't think Walters will be able to make the adjustment, if he can we're going to see some fireworks, but I think he will be overwhelmed by the complete package Lomachenko brings and in the mid rounds he's going to start to get desperate and Lomachenko is going to drop him with a couple of body shots that will slow him down big time and from there I think Walters gets reckless and gets stopped.

I'm not sure Walters has the discipline and stamina to make adjustments later in this fight, plus this is just speculation, but I think Walters has been a major pothead for the last year or so and against certain, or most fighters, he'd still have enough talent to win, but you've gotta have 10000% dedication against Loma, and no drugs in your system.

Lomachenko TKO 10 (Walters gets dropped twice by bodyshots)

            • I can't wait for this. Lomachenko excels on the big stage so I am predicting and hoping for a classic performance here. I'm nervous though because you can't make any mistakes against the Axe Man

The margin of error for both guys is very small... one mistake could end things for either man!

Eh, let's be real. We haven't seen Loma look anything like a guy who is going to end it with one punch. Especially not on Walters. He throws a high volume of light punches. In the Martinez fight he sat down on his punches more but was still required to box his ears off before he could finish him. That's no slight on him, is just his style to punch light so that he can maximize hand and foot speed.

No, not one punch. But an accumulation. Eating leather to the face repeatedly is demoralizing, bro. Lomachenko is so precise and accurate with his punches, then you combine the hand speed, he can knock out anybody out in the later rounds once they start to wear down, IMO.

Don't forget- Lomachenko's power is deceptive, Loma himself said that in the WSOB you were not able to fully close your fists. The more comfortable he gets as a pro (lets not forget he's had 6 fights), the more opportunities he can give himself in a fight to sit down on his punches, like you said, and try to land something mean.

Lomachenko's power is underrated, IMO, it's almost like a hidden trait. On the surface it's not too evident, because his style/skillset is maximized when he's light on his feet, throwing quick combos at various angles, etc. But deep down, and later in fights, after throwing and landing so many combos....and working the body as well as he does, when/if he starts to dig his feet into the ground and unload and WANT to cause some real damage, I think he'd be more able to than some people would think. Especially to a fatigued fighter.

I'm not even joking, but if Walters has been smoking weed like his beanie suggests, he may be taken to DEEP waters like never before in the later rounds. We'll see if he'll be able to make a successful adjustment.
