Loeffler asks to extend bid date to WBA

Yup, they sure don't want to make the fight... I mean, they already pushed their own fight date back, extended the date so they don't have to go to bid and aren't trying to make the fight at all

If the fight goes to bid, as Jacobs and his camp seem resigned to do, Tom Loeffler has to bring the negotiations to the public, giving folks a chance to see how much of the spin was actually legit, and Loeffler has to weigh the package he's looking at against the package that DiBella is likely looking at (Showtime and Barclays Center both backing Jacobs' side with serious money).

Jacobs didn't like the money that he was being offered by K2 to go to HBO, Jacobs went to the WBA to try and change that weeks ago, the change didn't happen, and there's been radio silence since.

K2 may look for a bit more time, but the seeming facts aren't going to change; HBO's current package to K2, after paying Golovkin his money, isn't enough to avoid an open bid, and the open bid puts K2 in a bind.

what sort of bind is that? please enlighten us.

I'm almost 100% certain that HBO would allow their favored fighter to go across the street to showtime for a one-off fight and easy win. Loeffer is on record saying that the networks would not be an issue.

Wasn't he the one that asked for an early purse bid? Now that Espinoza has said they'll aggressively go after the fight he wants to cancel dates and ask for extensions. He just said this past Sunday that Al isn't answering his calls.

Loeffler is playing games. The purse bid is scheduled for tomorrow. If he wants the fight made it'll be made tomorrow. Bottom line!

The fight can be made tomorrow if Loeffler stop playing games. If he really wants the fight made then take it to purse bid or pay the man what he wants!!!

Only Loeffler is asking for an extension not Jacobs side. The WBA needs to reject this request like they rejected Jacobs request for a 40% split.

Of course GGG fans will spin this like Loeffler is really trying to make the fight. If he was really trying to make the fight the fight could be made tomorrow!!!!!!

In before GGG fans say the WBA shouldn't violate their own rules because it would set a bad precedent.
