Don't mix up the product and the business deal. A product can still get worse (or trend towards a decline) but the business deal can get better (happens all the time in business).

The fight may not be as exciting in the future, sure, not denying that at all. But the business deal would only get better in favour of GGG in a few years from now. For all Mark knows, Facebook may have been near peak and could've declined soon after so he could have cashed out.

But if you want to stick to boxing, GGG can accept $10 million now (but he doesn't get the fight in Sept 2017 anyway), or accept more than $10 million down the road (most likely on the same date anyway). That's all there really is to it.

The two industries aren't subject to the same variables so no they are not comparable. GGG will not get more than 10 mill down the road if the fight happens in september. Canelo doesn't have him too high as a priority to fight so GGG refusing offers is fine with him. Canelo will fight Brook and Saunders before GGG at this rate which means the GGG fight won't happen until 2018 at best because Canelo isn't fighting 3 times in 1 year with GGG as one of them. Hell, he won't even fight 3x in one year without him lol.
