I think he's already a lock. This only solidifies it more.

When you practically clean out a division of top tier competition that resonates.

The only person he didn't fight was Bute. I'm sure we know what would have happened.

Agreed, Kov I admit is a solid fighter and a true warrior even though he's a closet racist!

Kov should get credit for taking on Ward and SOG better get credit for taking the scalp of the feared Ruskie!

Lesser guys are in the HOF. Ward is in no matter what the result in this one. And the result won't be good for him. Kovalev wins.

Beating Kovalev would make Ward a shoe-in for the HOF and an ATG fighter - in my eyes anyway - so long as he does it fair and square. By that I mean no deliberate use of the head to cut Kovalev up, like he did with Kessler.

Andre is full of shit and he always has been, but I'm sure he knows he is in for one hell of a tough fight against the Krusher, so kudos and respect to him for taking it on.

I'M his Legacy stop after the Olympics he has fought in a relatively weak division not venturing away from his home Oakland... if he had moved to LHW it would have not been much, it's a relatively weak division ...still it will be interesting vs Kovalev...

I agree he will get in but I was just talking about my personal opinion.

come on dude stop about the headbutts. They happen. Ward was just better then Kessler.

Ward's career was in a tough spot and took the road many wouldn't.

                  May 3, 2012:

While most of boxing's cognoscenti debate who should be crowned pound-for-pound king, few would question Mayweather's dominance as the era's best defensive fighter. That's an important distinction. Because although all fighters hit as often as they're physically able, the best boxers connect often and avoid being hit too frequently.

Given that, what can we surmise about Mayweather's station using the CompuBox data? Subtract the average connect percentage of Mayweather's opponents from Mayweather's own hit rate during that designated prime, and the numbers reveal an enormous chasm between Floyd and today's other top fighters.

With a plus/minus connect percentage rating of plus-30 percent, Mayweather is at least twice as effective in the hit-and-don't-get-hit game as any of his contemporaries. Ward, who ranks fifth in Dan Rafael's March pound-for-pound rankings, is next best behind Mayweather with a plus-15 percent differential. And the rest of boxing's elite -- Donaire (plus-7 percent), Martinez (plus-3 percent) and Vitali Klitschko (plus-13 percent) -- don't remotely compare.

He was on that night, but he also used his head blatently and deliberately, and it looked to me like it was part of a pre-determined game plane.

It wouldn't surprise me at all if Ward had been tipped off in advance that that fucking ******** of a home-town ref Jack Reiss would allow him to get away with it.
