People are confusing all this percentage split. People say that Jacobs only deserves 25%, 25% of what? The percentage is based on the purse bid, has nothing to do with revenue split. In order for Jacobs to receive a million purse for the fight someone would have to bid $4 million. 3 mil to GGG and 1 mil to Jacobs. K2 must have low balled Jacobs during negotiations and asked for an early purse bid knowing that GGG would get 75% of the bid. Why would Jacobs fight GGG for less than he got fighting Quillen? K2 has never paid any fighter over $500,000 to fight GGG, that's why K2 can't afford to give GGG any big fights. If it ends up being 25%, Jacobs should move on and try and land Saunders or Canelo.

      I agree

Jacobs has done a fine job of getting himself back to status...he deserves at least 35-40%. It's a huge risk for him as well.

They paid Geale $600k and Lemieux $1.5mill. Stop making up stuff unless your simply a troll.

Jacobs can't get a fight with BJS or Canelo. That's funny you even suggest that.

K2 already offered $1.5mill to Jacobs in July, and Jacobs called it chump change. They've been offering him more since then and he still won't sign. Jacobs is going to vacate and stay a nobody in this sport.

I'm not saying that it's right, but if you want the fights, that's what you have to do, especially when you are not a draw.

In GGG case, I disagree. The onus is very much on GGG as well. He can't keep fighting the Dominic Wade's of the world and gain status as a superstar. He needs legitimate competition. Jacobs could very well drop the belt and line up fights with BJS, Eubanks Jr, or even Canelo because he is less "avoided." I understand that GGG is the bigger name (which is why a 2 to 1 split is around the range that many people find reasonable), but I don't think GGG is free of making concessions when he needs someone respectable on his resume, which Jacobs would provide. Hopefully, they get this thing settled and we can get some good boxing in a couple of months.
Golovkin hasn't just been fighting the Dominic Wades of the world. I don't get why everyone acts like that's all he does. He's fought and beaten like 5 or 6 top 10 MWs in the past 4 years. That's all Jacobs is, another top 10 MW. He wouldn't even be Golovkin's biggest fight this year.

Let's get real about who exactly Daniel Jacobs is. He's just another middleweight name, not any kind of high profile fight. He is likely being offered the highest purse of his career and turning it down because he isn't confident about winning. This idea that Golovkin needs to make huge concessions to fight Daniel ****ing Jacobs is ridiculous. He's nobody.

K2 didn' t pay Lemiux 1.5 mil, that fight was co-promoted with Golden Boy and had to be on PPV to guarantee Lemieux that payday. K2 as a sole promoter isn't willing to pay big purses to other fighters. What makes you think Jacobs can't fight BJS or Canelo? Jacobs has a better shot at facing those two guys than GGG does. Canelo vs Jacobs could be big on Cinco de Mayo, and Jacobs vs BJS in the UK would also be big without BJS and Canelo having to worry about paying GGG what he wants to make the fight.

Ma'am? People like you are ******s, insulting people who don't agree with you rather than make any type of valid point. GGG puts Jacobs away in 4.

I concur. 35% should be enough to satisfy both

What?! As far as cleaning out a division and claiming to be the best MW in the world, Danny is who GGG needs to fight. Danny is the second best MW at the moment and is no way in the same league as Wade, Lemieux, etc. His KO of Quillen is better than anything on GGG resume if you ask me. 40% may be too much but 35% is definitely fair and not a "huge concession" by any means.

Jacobs vs Quillng was suppose to be Jacobs "big fight"

It didn't even break 300k views, and thzts with Showtime doing a buildup to that fight!

So explain to me he deserved any sort if big money again? Just because Haymon overpaid him doesn't mean anyone else should.

Time for these fighters to face reality....
