Think about it, Gatti was a professionally trained boxer and look at what floyd did to him, its ridiculous to even consider this as a boxing match, the ony idiots that even think this is possible are the same ones that always discredit Floyds accomplishments, McGregor wouldnt last a round the same with Floyd fighting mma, diaz would easily beat McGregor in a boxing only match. He already made him tap out in an MMA match, and I suspect he lost on purpose because if he gets three fights with McGregor thats more than he probably made during his entire MMA career.

It's not like he is 49-0 in his sport...FMJR should make him fight Berto first. I can not recall one boxing presser where the fighter's were calling out UFC guy's but it seems like the mma guys and gals do it all the time. Dana White is worse then Don King.

Mcgregor survives round 1 then caves in Floyds face with a kick in round 2...

The best concession that White could expect would be that (very good, imo) idea about 4oz gloves, and possibly forego the ring for an octagon.

They could sell that fight (curiosity) on McGregor's size advantage and the fact that they would be wearing 4oz gloves and fighting in an octagon...... but it is highly unlikely that Mayweather would wander too far into MMA territory..... forget kicks, or even elbows, that will never happen.

That's exactly why this fight makes zero sense. No matter which scenario you choose the fighter entering the other guys wheel house will get schooled. The only difference is that if they went the mma route Mayweather could get hurt badly. This is just a way to keep their names in the press. This fight never happens.

the 4oz glove idea is a winner imho

simply because Mayweather will not, and likely should not, fight under MMA rules

fighting with 4oz gloves in an octagon would swing the fight McGregor's way to most punters/observers

in reality, McGregor would have the exact same chance of landing something flush on Mayweather..... which is next to none..... and Mayweather would brutalize McGregor with his speed/accuracy/precision and far superior technique..... he would have no problem keeping McGregor honest

the possibility of that fight happening completely hinges around Mayweather, and I think the 4oz glove idea will make it a far more attractive prospect for Mayweather if he takes good advice and has a think about it

Mayweather would kill McGregor in a boxing match with 4oz gloves, regardless as to the shape of the ring..... and yet to most observers 4oz gloves will likely appear to favor McGregor.

Unfortunately, unless the conditions favor Floyd, that fight won't happen..... and McGregor has balls of steel, he would likely take that fight under those conditions.

This is getting old. Either guy gets owned in each other guy's respected sport. No point at all for this fight to happen. Lets worry about boxing and the youth we have in the sport and seeing the best fights as possible. Im a mayweather fan but as "ice cube once said to dre, stick to producing" may stuck to promoting.

This is a $1billion dollar fight so you can't blame the parties involved for wanting it, but you can bet they are going to fight tooth and nails for petty things that gives each the advantage; Cage or Ring, 4oz gloves or 8-10 ounces, boxing weightclass (147, 154) or MMA weightclass (145, 155)

And that's only the petty stuff, the most important thing would be if grappling, kicks and elbows will be allowed. Knowing Floyd and the UFC... both difficult parties to get along with and who always want it their way, then you would say the fight will NEVER happen, but with so much money involved, and just like with Pacquiao, it can... and it must.

why not just allow kicks and hands but no ground game ? sounds fair right? it will be boxing vs kickboxing.

It would be a fckn massacre. Floyd's legs would be inoperable inside two rounds, then he would just be a sitting duck. If this circus of a fight ever took place it would only be a boxing match and Conor would get schooled.

in a mma match the fight would be over in round 1 in conor's favor.

in a boxing match knowing floyd, this might go all 12 rounds to a decision win for floyd. 12-0.

Believe it or not I think Floyd would actually stop him. Here's why. Floyd would be the best pure puncher he's ever faced. Hitting him with shots he doesn't see coming, etc. On top of that I just don't think mcgregor would have the stamina for 12 rounds of boxing because he doesn't train for that and has never gone 12 rounds with someone as accomplished as Floyd.

I know it's a safe bet in general that any decent opponent goes the distance with Floyd these days but I just think given the circumstances, Mcgregor tires out in the late rounds and Floyd gets a TKO.
