    David Defiagbon:A Future Champion?

David Defiagbon is a nigerian hw.He was a light middleweight in the 1992 Olympics and reached the quarter finals. He won the silver medal in the 1996 Olympics losing to Felix Savon by decision. He has a record of 21-2(12).He lost a split decision to Oleg Maskaev.Scores were 98-92, 96-93 Maskaev and 95-94 Defiagbon. His other loss was in his last fight in January 2005 a 3rd round tko loss to J.C. Gomez. My question is does anyone think that he can be a force in the division?

I have only seen him against Juan Carlos Gomez. He didn't impress me, to be honest. So my answer is "No, I don't think he will be champ one day!".

I saw him fight Maskaev...he's nothing out of the ordinary. Long reach and height, but no overbearing skills or fight changing punching power or anything.

So no, he won't be a future champion in my opinion.

No way in hell he becomes anything more than a journeyman. He was so overprotected as a fighter, and to be an undefeated Olympian with no public appeal says alot about the mans talent. I saw him against Oleg Maskaev on FNF last year, and he looked atrocious. Him and Friday Ahunanya type fighters are whats wrong with boxing today. Guys who are complacent about whats going on, more concerned with the pain of fatigue and punches, than the pain a fight fan goes through watching that sort of nonsense.

He's a poor man's Audley Harrison. In other words, thoroughly and comprehensively mediocre. I'd love for him to win something, but the cold truth is he won't. Ever.
