Why is Broner hanging out with Floyd instead of getting the help he needs?

Mental health issues are stigma in the black community. It's embarrassing to admit you may be mentally ill and get the help you need. Broner was crying out for help when he threatened to kill himself on social media. He was so embarrassed by it he said his account was hacked. After his loss to Porter, Broner posted a picture with a gun said '**** boxing...'

I don't want to play arm chair psychiatrist but Broner seems like the type of guy that gets to high with the highs and to low with the lows. You could tell that beef with Floyd really hurt him. Floyd is a selfish person and Broner is a good dude. I say this because it seems like other fighters are cool with Broner (Maidana for instance) while fighters don't really mess with Floyd & Floyd don't really mess with other fighters unless they're part his promotion.

He has a fight with Burns coming up. He has two champions in his stable. He's one of the more known fighters out there. You'd think he would be happy but like I said earlier. He seems to get to high with the highs and to low with the lows. Hanging out with Floyd clubbing, find to strip clubs, throwing money, drinking alcohol (a depressant) isn't the cure for depression. Broner needs professional help and I hope he gets it. He seems like a good guy that just keeps making bad decisions.

Honestly, he may just be blowing it off and hanging out with Floyd might just be good for him right now.

A professional boxer; especially a championship caliber fighter and one of Broner's public persona, is going to be misunderstood by most people. Floyd may get him better than most people, and Floyd does have a humanitarian side to him.

Maybe Floyd invited him out to blow off some steam and get his mind off things.

Doesn't sound so bad to me.

I understand what you're saying but he just threatened suicide. He should get immediate help. I think moral support from Floyd would be better if Broner was getting some real help. Once the stream has been blown off he still has to come back to reality. If he doesn't have the tools to deal with reality he's just going to get worse and worse. Especially in a testosterone fueled sport like boxing. And especially in the black community where mental health issues are frowned upon.

Floyd has that same stuff in him that drove Michael Jordan, Kobe Bryant, Tiger Woods, and a host of other prickly top competitors to their peak; being that driven to max out on what you've got doesn't really make for hanging out with folks just to hang.

Broner doesn't have that in him; with the pressure of still being a fighter with big goals to fight for, a boxing company that has talent actually starting to break through, and the pressure of actually carrying his city (with the Maidana beatdown further and further away, there's no doubt that the attention from hanger-ons is likely coming back), the soft spots in his being are starting to open up.

Say what you want about Floyd, but Floyd seems to be helping him in the only way he seems able to help folks he interacts with; take him to Vegas (removing the distractions that could come with staying in Cincinnatti, positive or negative), do everything to keep Broner in at Mayweather Boxing Club (holding off on the world tour to simply get back in the nitty gritty and coach sparring), and simply hang with him (with Floyd basically being a teetotaler, regardless of what they do or how much money they spend, Floyd's not going to touch any drugs/alcohol and you hitting the bottle is going to make you look silly).

Whether he needs professional help or not is not for me to determine; Broner has a big fight with Ricky Burns coming and setting up this camp (at least this first part) in Vegas gives him as good a chance as any to be fully ready for the fight, and hopefully get to everything else after.

probably because he was never in trouble, he was, most likely, seeking for attention like usual

Who knows but if its helping, its helping. Never look a gift horse in the mouth. I'm not saying itll solve all of his issues. But he seems to be happier for the moment.

He isn't killing himself, not that I want him to but he is too selfish to do it. He is an attention seeker IMHO, I could be wrong doe.

How do you feel about Fury and his admitted mental illness?
