I've been waiting for an opportunity to bring up something i've been dwelling on for months, and I think this is a good forum to present my concern. Hopkins and many others, including myself, have been asking GGG to make a move to 168, 175, etc. If Andre Ward is not just defeated by Kovalev, but beaten, it would be critical to his legacy, that he come back to 168 and face GGG! If Kovalev beats him, Beterbiev probably beats him, and Stevenson probably beats him! There's a big difference between losing and being beaten! Sullivan Barerra lost to Andre Ward. Julio Chavez Jr. was beaten by Andrezj Fonfara! If Andre Ward is beaten by Sergey Kovalev, he will NEED to face GGG, and will not have any of the leverage he had in 2013, 2014, or 2015! I wonder if Bernard Hopkins would agree?

I think if Ward loses to Kovalov and Canelo gets stomped by GGG like most ppl think. EVERY one will be expecting GGG vs. Ward. Win or lose Ward is going to eventually have to do something else because the closest big fight for him would be GGG next.

And that's why I don't think GGG will fight a 167lber without a CW. Too close in weight to Ward and Kovalov who he knocked-out already.

Ain't going to happen. GGG is already 34 years old. He's gonna stay at 160 no matter if his fans like it or not. To be honest though 168 isn't that sexy of a division it's currently better than MW but MW has some guys the could EASILY make 160 like both Charlo Bros. Andrade, Canelo.

The 154 division is going to busy knocking themselves off in 2017. I don't think GGG waits @ 160 past 2017. I can't see why? If GGG vs. Canelo takes place @ 160 in September 2017, I think that's the last time we see GGG @ 160. Canelo will be the one to benefit from Andrade, the Charlos, J-Rock, etc. eventually moving up to 160. Canelo is much younger than GGG!

If Ward wins, there's Stevenson in waiting! He could cash out right there, or try to get Zurdo Ramirez @ 175. No way does GGG go anywhere near Ward @ 175, if he beats Kovalev! And no way does Ward go back to fight GGG @ 168, if he beats Kov!
