I mean, I get that a couple of pounds COULD make the difference at the elite level. However, following that to its nth degree, nobody ever fights each other because they're always a couple of pounds away from their ideal fighting weight.

Modern boxing really is a joke when you consider what the old timers used to do with regard to jumping weight classes. Again, I get that it's not always feasible with modern strength & nutrition to jump weight divisions as the more professional the sport becomes the more difficult this is, however the weight classes now are closer in poundage than before and in this particular incidence the writer is talking about a supposedly elite fighter bringing down his opponent 2 pounds (or up 4 pounds) so he can gain the maximum possible advantage. It's not sport in it's truest sense it's becoming something else with these silly weight differences

honestly don't mind if he sits out, his inactivity opens up HBO's budget for better fights.

Enough comedy is enough 158 but not 160? He fights 175-180. Please check HBO tale of the tape weigh in and night if fights before they stopped showing it. He is a mw thick and strong. They insult our intelligence just say you want to build up ggg fight. Don't call him out then say in 2 years then say I'm not a mw.

I'm really starting to turn on boxing aye I'm sick of these catchweights whether it's pac, floyd, Alvarez, golovkin- whoever.... if you think you can beat another fighter whether he's a weight class above or 2, don't you wanna fight the best version of that guy, something to be proud of, who really give a **** if you beat the best ranked fighter in the world if he's drained, it doesn't mean anything... just an example if golovkin was to fight kovalev or ward(dont think it will ever happen) if it's not at 175 I honestly don't give a **** and wouldn't give any credit to golovkin if he won...
