As someone already said Garcia's chin and to add to that, his timing make him a hard match up for most. I think it makes it a hard match up for Thurman also. I think Danny has got a great poker face, but sooner rather than later he will get cracked because he isn't hard to hit at the elite level. Will that be against Thurman? Time will tell.

If you look at their relative performances Thurman is much more impressive, but that doesn't matter in the end because Danny always closes that gap when you are in the ring with him.

What I have noticed is that Danny has definitely carried some pop up with him but the bigger guys seem to take it better, so I think that could also be a difference in a fight with two guys who like to swing.

I'm leaning Thurman but I agree w/ the sentiment of this thread - the amount of certainty there seems to be that Thurman will win is way too high. I would have thought this fight would be viewed as 50/50, but judging from the reactions on here and on YouTube I wouldn't be surprised if the odds end up wider than they were for Thurman/Porter. If they do, I might just put some money on Garcia.

The Matthysse hype on this site at that point was absolutely hilarious. A very average fighter with solid power yet on here he was a monster that was going to head up to 147 and give Mayweather a tough fight

There isn't much more annoying than a guy on here who acts like Garcia has already beat Thurman and now Thurman fans must now make up excuses for Thurman's loss. Here is a news flash for you, frantic fighter. GARCIA IS NOT FIGHTING THURMAN NEXT! Garcia is fighting an unranked boxer who Spence already knocked out in 4 rounds about 16 months ago.If Garcia was a good champion he would be fighting Spence instead of a Spence KO victim. When and if Garcia really fights Thurman I think Garcia will be the underdog not only with most fans but with the betting places based on past performances. They both fought Guerrero not too far apart in time and Thurman won by a much larger amount. We all know Garcia surprised most of us and beat Matthysse. His win over Matthysse has nothing to do with how a fight with him against Thurman would go. I am a Thurman fan and I would pick him to beat Garcia if they fight each other. Unlike you, I don't make Thurman a sure thing to win. Either man could win or it could be a draw. If Garcia wins I'll give him full credit and won't make excuses for Thurman. I was one of those fans who picked Matthysse to beat Garcia. When Garcia won I gave him full credit for a great win and made no excuses.

            garcia isn't given enough credit.

Think Thurman will win but won't be easy cause Garcia is good

I could see Danny easily losing this fight. It depends if Thurman plays into Danny's counterpunching game. We all know Danny isn't good at chasing boxers down, so if Thurman wants to get on his bike I can see this being an easy outing for Thurman, picking Danny off from the outside maybe even stop him.

Meh, Thurman doesn't have nearly the hype train Matthysse did. I was a big part of that hype train and looked like a real idiot after the fight, so believe me I know the Matthysse hype train well. Thurman won't have that kind of hype going into this fight.

As for this fight, I favor Thurman but his style is one that can be timed but a fighter like Garcia. It's no gimme either way and I really hope it's next.

From what I remember, very few took the "Matthysse beating Mayweather" stuff seriously. I remember that thread and remember most people dismissing it. Maybe I'm wrong about that, though.

It's your choice but if you are leaning toward Thurman to win then I don't think you should bet on Garcia. Always bet on the man you think will win or don't bet at all. If Thurman wins you lose your bet and the fact that you got good betting odds won't help you feel better about the money you lost. By betting on Garcia you would be making a bet you think you will probably lose on the chance of getting a nice payoff if Garcia wins.
