Fun fact but his brother in law just brought home a bronze medal this summer. Talk about a crazy story. Your brother in law teaches you to box and then goes on to murder your sister yet you stay committed to the sport and bring home an Olympic medal. Seemed like a good kid. Said he's forgiven Valero and just showed maturity way beyond his age.
As for Valero I always figured he'd crash and burn once he hit the elite level. He was just so raw which made him fun to watch but he probably couldn't have competed at the top level.Comment

he has power doe. Look at his ko percentage, all time great doe!
And yeah, I notice most GGG fans follow MMA too. Hmm interesting.
Edit: oh and **** that Indio. I'm glad he's rolling around in the flames of hell

I think he was the real deal. But he also didn't look indestructible or someone who would have been impossible to beat. To me anyway he looked elite, I don't read too much into sparring, but so much of his sparring is out there on the internet you can't help but be impressed.
He was someone who generated extreme power without much torque or rotation, and guys like that are rare and extremely hard to deal with. He could box well and he set his power up well. I thought he was overrated until the Demarco performance where he really separated himself and as the fight wore on it became extremely one sided, and he did that with a huge gash on his head, from that point on I thought he was going to be elite and he was destined to be more than a normal world champion.
Subsequently a lot of his sparring footage has been released that wasn't available during his career, which has reaffirmed my belief that he was an elite fighter. I think with his style though he would have struggled above 140. I don't think he would have been able to fight above that because his style was to make his opponent JUST miss and counter them off the pull. Because he was only 5ft 6 I don't think his style would have translated well higher in weight, but I am very confident that he would have been absolutely formidable at 135-140lbs.Comment

valero's talente was legitimate. people got caught up in the power, but the guy moved his entire body with supreme coordination. he was very, very talented. not a blistering speedster the way a lot of supremely talnted guys are, but he was extremly accurate, freak strong at 130 and 135, and he definitely had a big punch. and he was a lefty with a very unique style.
i think he could have been the goods. he had the talent. now, whether or not he would have beaten prime manny is a different story :lo1l:. manny was just as talented, and he, uhh, you know, beat guys better than antonio demarco, and didn't get his face busted up while doing it.Comment

this
watch the guy spar if you aren't sold yet. the guy had a ton of potential. a ton. basically limitless potential. the snap on his pinches was unreal. he didn't even have to try hard and he almost knocked out urbano antillon with 14 oz gloves and headgear.Comment
