Canelo is the exact same guy, he has the exact same weaknesses he has always had. If he fights a guy that can box him from then outside and has range on him Canelo will still look iffy at best.

He has always been a pretty good boxer and maybe he has got a bit better at the stuff he was always good at. Now he is not a bad fighter and could do good fighting guy that attack him or that have similar dimensions or an obvious flaw in their boxing style or technique. There are always guys that will be difficult for him though because he wants to box. So a guy that hangs out with a range advantage is always going to be an issue and going up in weight that will be an even bigger issue going forward (although there are plenty of dudes at 154 that would be problems for him).

Not sure which fight you were watching but it doesn't change the fact that Canelo was still getting outboxed by a mediocre boxer. So, he sure as hell hasn't improved in that department. Where he has NEEDED THE MOST improvement.
