From what I recall there was never an option earlier. Oscar didn't turn it down because of the weight he turned it down because of Canelo's 'legal issues' (a contract dispute with his previous promoter) or somesuch. Or at least that's what was said. But yeah, maybe you're right. Maybe if GGG had said 155 the hold-ups would have just disappeared. Maybe GGG knows he'd be dangerously weakened at 155 and doesn't want to take the risk. I don't claim to know. All I do know is that no contract was previously offered and the recent offer was for a fight next September if I got it straight, at 160lbs with the purses still under negotiation.

you got it right, no contract has been offered other than the one at 160 for september, at least thats what we all know, but canelos team claim the reason for september is cuz they want to aclimate to the weight, ggg seem to be ok with this cuz he has said numerous times he wont fight canelo ouside 160, canelo isnt forcing a CW thats why ggg isnt forcing a date either...

regardles of what anyone said, canelo is getting aclimated to 160 in order for the fight to happen at 160, if ggg doesnt like it then send an offer to a lower weight for a fight in may... but ggg already made it public he wants none of canelo at any other weight...

Why do you keep brining up 160 as if its some unreasonable thing to ask for? Canelo himself said he will fight next at 160 with no issues and its no secret he has a hard time cutting down to 155. Yet you keep spinning it as if the only way GGG can fight canelo next is if he agrees to 155? Were are you getting this info?
