This interview again? Isn't it years old? S hit happens all the time in sparring. Dudes get marked up something fierce, get cut, dropped at times, etc. A lot of guys get f ucked up in sparring and some even get beat up more while sparring than the fight. It happens.Comment

Still wondering why some people boast about GGG knocking down Kov and battering Canelo but someone with a shyt resume drops Golovkin and suddenly sparring doesn't count.
Show some consistency. Sparring controlled practice. Who cares which race car driver finishes first if they are both trying to stay under 100mph?Comment

I seriously doubt this guy knocked GGG down in sparring. More likely GGG tripped and fell without being hit. This guy is a real bum. He has a pro record of 11 wins, 7 losses and 2 draws. He has 4 KO wins for a 19% KO ratio. He lost 5 of his last 6 fights and he has been knocked out 5 times. Maybe he is punchy and dreamed this story up.Comment

My point, which went over your head, is that sparring is not a measure of skill. In sparring, you are holding back. You try to strike a balance but so often, one guy pushes harder than the other wants to. Some guys are just insecure ****s and just try to be gym heroes. If you really think Kovalev and GGG went all-in without restraint (which is already discredited as Sanchez says he doesn't allow that) and Golovkin dominated him (lol) then you're just a fanboy with wishful thinking.Comment

I've been in the ring during sparring sessions and that's where the work is done....especially if the fighters don't know each other.
That being said. I could see Golovkin getting dropped with a body shot in sparring but it doesn't mean he's weak in the body. Many times the sparring sessions go on after fighters have worked out and such. Regardless, that's the type of work you want in sparring.Comment
