Fighters can ask for the moon if they want to, it's up to the managers and promoters to negotiate and decide what's fair.
The problem is Haymon in order to lure guys away from Top Rank and GBP is massively overpaying these guys.
I remember SLC got paid like 700k to fight his sparring partner, and Lara got the same in a rematch with Vanes.

When fighters get this much in mismatches it's no wonder they want millions to fight any opponent that poses a bigger risk.

ILL GIVE YOU GATTI and BERTO..but Mosley and Manny were both top p4p fighters and fans clamed he was afraid to fight them..dont pull this **** after he fights and beats them...and i see you hyping fighters who are LITERALLY HANDED TITLES THEY NEVER HAD TO FIGHT FOR
Manny's 17 more fights age a fighter faster than Floyd's two year age difference while fighting low risk opponents all his career and a style that employs running and clinching. See the difference?

De La Hoya has a more impressive record considering all of the prime opposition he faced. Floyd waited out fighters until they aged or were battle worn. If they lost a step (or never had a step to begin with) he was ready to fight them.

Who did Ortiz go to war with...BERTO!!! If you're giving me Berto as overrated then Ortiz and Guerrero get added to the list since that is who they had to beat to get their shot at Floyd.

I will say this, Floyd is THE ONLY FIGHTER who ever got caught with an illegal IV the day prior to his biggest fight of his career. Speaks volumes!

all i read were excuses to discredit a great fighter...and floyd was the only fighter to use an iv?? Oscar used one for manny as well..under nevada rules iv's are not illegal..learn about the sport son

So Mayweahter says Arum sat Walters on the shelf for one year. Do you think Floyd would have paid Walters $1 mil for the Lomachenko fight?

I get his point but I don't agree with Floyd. I think boxers should get the bulk of the money. I'm pro labor and hate to see promoters get the bulk of the money since they aren't doing the fighting.

Floyd earned his purses the hard way. He could barely sell out small arenas but kept on fighting and winning and then sold the hell out of the odh fight on 24/7 and went from there. So it's easy to see why he expects young guides to earn the big paydays.

I don't see the big deal. When workers become management or go from payee to payer their perspective often changes. Just like those in here lobbing bombs, when they go from fries to asst manager their perspective will change.

115-112 castillo. It's the only fight floyd lost in his career imo and i thought he won the rematch 8-4.
