If Golovkin was that easy, he'd have already stepped in the ring and beat him. Not that him defeating GGG is an insane suggestion, but Mayweather has to know it would neither be easy nor the most likely outcome. He just wants the bragging rights of being the only cat to ever defeat Canelo, and he knows Golovkin physically dismantling Canelo and knocking him out (especially a better, more experienced version of him that Mayweather himself beat) would overshadow his own victory over him. As usual, it's all about himself at the end of the day.

Based off of resume alone, Canelo has fought the much better competition.

Finally, someone admitted it. Thank you. Like I said, I still favor Golovkin but Canelo is getting slept on, big time. If this fight actually gets booked, watch the predictions slide from being 90/10 in favor of Golovkin to being much closer. Once people shake the idea that Canelo is scared and start thinking about the way the fight plays out, the more they will remember how dangerous Canelo is.

Red fox I like you as a member and poster but canelo has zero shot to beat golovkin and I can see canelo taking a sustained beating.
Canelo has no foot speed and cant fight going backwards which means he's prime game for Golovkin and won't be able to go anywhere.
There's a reason why canelo gave up his belts m8 and you don't do that if you think you can beat someone.
Golovkin will break canelo down bit by bit and the pace that golovkin fights at will be far to much for him.
I'm not even sure canelo could beat lemeuix and it's a dodgy fight for canelo ...trust me on that son

I gotta say, I think Canelo fights better going backwards than going forward, why did I get to that conclusion? see the Trout fight, when he was going after Trout he had a harder time that when Trout had to go forward because the open scoring.

Same with Lara or Floyd, fighters who come to Canelo are the ones who make him fight the best. Canelo KO's Lemieux ala Kirkland, JMHO.

I got the fight right now as a 60-40 in favor of GGG but I do think that Canelo will be a stronger and better fighter @160 and when the fight happens, SEP 2016 I wouldn't be schoked if Canelo beats GGG.

Canelo will be at his full prime at a weight I think will suit him better.

Actually, GGG, until Brook, had never been hit repeatedly with serious punches. And Canelo is very talented with punching in very strong combinations. So there's that. It's a 50/50 fight though. Logic and reasoning will likely fly out the window when the 2 meet in the ring. Fans will learn a bunch of things about both fighters, since both will be taken places neither have been before. It won't stop fans from talking the fight up one side and down the other though... before... during... and after.

Whos to say he has better defence...he was picked apart by 12 rounds by mayweather , he was consistently tagged by cotto, better head movement says who lol..... Now let's start
His footwork is atrocious for a 154lb fighter, stamina is suspect , his chin is weaker, he can't fight going backwards and has only ever faced smaller fighters than himself which has exaggerated his punching power and when he actually came up against a durable fighter he couldn't make a dent in him cotto,Mosley.
Now you favour canelo do you son ? well how much you wanna wager with me canelo gets stopped by Golovkin inside 9 rounds. he might put up a decent show for a short time but sooner or later Golovkin is gonna break him down and stop him.
There's a reason why every expert picks Golovkin to beat him....it won't be a blowout but it will be a round after round breaking canelo apart and then ending him.... 100% and as I said this idiots willing to wager what ever want over it

Who has knocked out Iron Chin Mosley? Forrest, Wright, Prime DLH, prime Pacquiao couldn knocked him out, he had a cement chin.

When you go to the top level it becames very hard to keep KO'ing guys.

Big talk coming from a champ that chose Berto over better and more deserving boxers for is farewell fight. What ever Floyd.
Here's how a fight with Canelo and GGG would go. GGG would move foreword in his usual fashion and out jab Canelo much like he did to Lemieux. Canelo will start throwing desperation power shots and get countered with over hand rights and that destructive left hook to the ribs. If Canelo retreats to the ropes, it will only get worse for him. And the longer the fight goes to worse his body will suffer from GGG body shots. Canelos right side will look like that slab of meat in the first Rocky movie. GGG won't go into the ring looking for a quick KO like he did with brook, but he will still move forward and systematically break down Canelos will and spirit. If Canelo wants a fight with GGG as he says he does, he better step in the ring with fighters like Lemieux, Kell Brook, etc and quit fighting b and c level fighters and gate keepers.

I pretty much agree with GGG's plan on that fight, and it's a brilliant one, of course Canelo ain't Lemieux or Brook, and Canelo has fought better fighters than those two guys.

The thing about the Canelo-GGG fight is Canelo is a ferocious combination puncher. You could make the arguement that's what GGG struggles with. When Brook started putting punches together, it froze Triple G in a lot of spots. I disagree with Floyd about Canelo easily winning. Its obviously the biggest fight in boxing because of how competitive it would be. I think Canelo would land some heavy combo's that would give Gennady problems early. But we saw Golovkin respond like a real fighter and walk through Brook to get back at him for landing those shots. He looked sloppy doing it and I don't think he would try to walk through Canelo the same way. Canelo fought Liam Smith like he was preparing for Triple G. It was a very active fight for Canelo and he was on the offensive a lot. He doesn't seem to fade in fights anymore because he puts himself on the ropes to counterpunch when he needs a breather. Thats dangerous against Golovkin but Canelo will throw bombs off the ropes as well. There is no other fighter that can push Canelo's stamina the way Gennady can with his relentless pressure. So you could see Canelo fade late in this fight. You could also see Canelo maintain control of the fight throughout the early rounds by landing good combinations early. Canelo's only chance to get a KO is if he is landing combos like Brook did in rounds 2 and 3 throughout the fight. He'd have a chance to break Triple G down. I don't see it happening. I don't see that type of one way domination. I see this fight going back and forth with both fighters grabbing control throughout the rounds. I think Gennady would win the later rounds.
