Mayweather was scared to fight GGG at 154 when he was the undisputed 154 champ... so these are just empty, self-serving comments.

Mayweather ducked GGG in the weight division he was champ in just like Canelo. End or story.

I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and assume a reporter asked him about Golovkin, otherwise he can't keep his name out of his mouth.

yeah, and thats why theres plenty of mayweather fans on this site who are now hardcore canelo fans

Floyd actually makes a great point about fan's opinions and courage. He proved me wrong. We tend to overlook Canelo because he's perceived as avoiding the fight. It gives the impression that he'd lose. I think it's pretty close though. I'd pick ggg because of Canelo's tendency to play defense too much and you can't do that against Golovkin. But, I'd not at all be surprised to see him finish Golovkin.
Red fox I like you as a member and poster but canelo has zero shot to beat golovkin and I can see canelo taking a sustained beating.
Canelo has no foot speed and cant fight going backwards which means he's prime game for Golovkin and won't be able to go anywhere.
There's a reason why canelo gave up his belts m8 and you don't do that if you think you can beat someone.
Golovkin will break canelo down bit by bit and the pace that golovkin fights at will be far to much for him.
I'm not even sure canelo could beat lemeuix and it's a dodgy fight for canelo ...trust me on that son

But there is a point where the hate becomes so ****ing ******. What logic shows that Canelo stops GGG? GGG has one of, if not the BEST chins in the sport. He's never even been floored and he's been hit by bigger punchers than Canelo. It's starting to get ridiculous. If I had never seen GGG fight and read this forum. I'd be pretty sure that this guy would lose to the top 20 MW, JMW and WW.
Actually, GGG, until Brook, had never been hit repeatedly with serious punches. And Canelo is very talented with punching in very strong combinations. So there's that. It's a 50/50 fight though. Logic and reasoning will likely fly out the window when the 2 meet in the ring. Fans will learn a bunch of things about both fighters, since both will be taken places neither have been before. It won't stop fans from talking the fight up one side and down the other though... before... during... and after.

Which fighter at 147 is going to fight GGG at 160 next?

would green k this but used it today already. Canelo has no chance against golovkin, even canelo thinks he has little chance otherwise he wouldnt feel the need for like 3 warm up fights to fight one guy. Theyve sparred together and GGG wobbled him twice, that was with sparring gloves and headguards on. If you are hittable, and you fight golovkin, you are in trouble. People dont seem to understand that GGG wouldnt bullrush canelo like he did with brook either. He'd systematically break him down, just like he did against lemiuex. Canelos a good solid fighter, but golovkin is something else

50/50?! Well the bookies seem to disagree, GGG is 1/4 on to win for a reason

Flroid also said that GGG would be "easy work" while his dad says that GGG would beat his son, so which is it? Does Flroid know boxing or does his dad, the career trainer, know boxing? Can't have it both ways.
