I agree. Trinidad vs. De La Hoya II is the real money fight, with lower risk, and a revenge factor. If Oscar beats Trinidad, then a fight with Winky. Trinidad fans would like to see thier hero one more time beat the great Oscar De La Hoya.
De la Hoya has a huge fan base, and so does Trinidad. Therefore the money to be made would be huge. Mayweather does not have a huge fan base, and he will end up demanding a high purse, and will out price himself. Therefore the fight will not happen.
Now that Golden Boy Productions has been dealing with Don King Productions, it seems they can come to the table and work out deals better than GBP and Top Rank. King still promotes Trinidad, and Arum promotes Mayweather. Everything points to a De La Hoya vs. Trindad Rematch.Comment

De La Hoya says his decision will 'shock a lot of people'.
That means Tito and Floyd are probably out of the equation, as those would be the least shocking to most fans. Everyone knows DLH deserved the nod over Tito anyway.
So what does this shocking decision imply? It could be a few things. Here are the fights that would generally surprise people, since everyone wants/expects DLH to fight Tito or Floyd.
1) DLH vs Hatton
2) DLH vs Margarito
3) DLH vs winner of Taylor/Wright
4) outside chance of DLH-TszyuComment

None of the fights you listed make DLH the money he will get fighting Tito, PLUS he's always wanted to avenge that loss. Both fighters are coming off of wins and losses to the same fighters. So pretty much nothing's changed in terms of their marketability.Originally posted by Super_LightweightDe La Hoya says his decision will 'shock a lot of people'.
