Seriously, does anyone remember Morales above 126? he was 8-8, with only 2 ko wins. He lacked power and his reach advanatge, which was significant below 126 and allowed him to control fights with his jab, was not as prominent against bigger and taller men at 130.

Floyd would literally beat him half to death. I understand Morales bested him in sparring.

This thread is why I hate discussing fantasy fights involving Floyd because we can never have a really honest discussion. Posters always make Floyd ordinary and the dude he is fighting better then he actually was.

      yep

130 floyd is literally top 5 all time in that division for a reason

also those guys at 122, 126 didnt decide to move up until he went to 135,140...for good reason...they had no shot at beating him

Morales struggled mightily with two guys Mayweather defended the title against, hernandes and chavez....also his power, speed, and reflexes were slower at 130....he'd get outmanuevered, outpunched, outsped and dominated

I think Mayweather would win by a good margin. Morales was very good of course, but Mayweather was faster and more skillful on both offense and defense. Mayweather had an iron jaw and consistently superb conditioning. Mayweather was great at 130 pounds and seemed to be a more aggressive and a harder puncher for that weight class than he was at 147. He often scored KOs at that weight. Maybe his hands troubled him less in those early days.

have to side with el terrible. mayweather was beatable back then, castillo nearly did it, morales would have outworked him to a decision.

Castillo fight was at 135 and other than being Mexican warriors Castillo and Morales are nothing alike.

A prime, huge 130 lb Mayweatehr kills a past prime 130 on Morales. It's foolish to suggest otherwise.

morales was a monster though, although guess raheem beat him but maybe morales wasnt properly focused on that fight. who knows. Would have been a great fight to have seen, of course floyd has the skills to pull it off but my hunch would be morales to win

Morales was a monster yes and an ATG but the style is completely wrong for him.

Add the fact you that Mayweather is much bigger, stronger and faster than he is and the fact that Morales was passed his best at 130.

He's got no shot in this fight.

A better question is how about MAB vs. Pretty Boy Floyd at 130? Considering nobody here gives Morales any shot in hell. Because TBE!

Problem with both of them vs. Floyd is they were both past it once they went to 130+. Barrera was still closer to his prime than Morales, so who would take it?

I know during the Zahir Raheem fight it was talked about how Morales typically avoided Raheem style but wanted to test himself vs that style and of course it end up being just a BAD stylistic match up for him. With respects to the Mexican LEGEND, I do think Mayweather style especially the 130 Version of Mayweather would've been all wrong for him as far as style goes.

                      Monster?

Morales had nothing but tough fights at the weight, his worst he ever won a title at

whereas 130 was where Floyd was most dominant

Morales fights nothing like Castillo, doesn't have the dirty tactics, inside game, nor will he come in the ring as a welterweight lol
