Kell Brook is in a difficult spot - a very difficult mandatory at 147 or jump into the deep end at 154. If he is up for challenges but not great pay days then 154 is full of them.Comment

Thurman Shakes Head at Brook, Expects Spence To Get IBF Belt
WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (27-0, 22 KOs) is still shaking his head at Kell Brook's decision to jump up by two weight divisions to challenge IBO/WBA/WBC/WBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin last month.

Go back two years prior to Brook-Porter and you will find the same hype on these boards - except it was about Porter. Porter entered that fight a clear favorite, largely due to all the hype from US boxing fans. So did that hype get transferred to Brook? Nope. First the hype baton got passed to Thurman and then when his KO run stopped it got passed on to Spence. At this point Spence is getting more hype and acclaim than Crawford - which is all upside down.Comment

Yea what about YOU and Spence Thurman???? Thurman tries to act like Spence isn't big name at 147 but he's top 5 now....Comment

Not to mention. Outside of JR all of them are 6' and can punch. So they are virtually the same size If not bigger than GGGComment

Why would Thurman duck Spence but not Brook? One's a world champion (who is still undefeated at 147), the other isn't. Spence has shown a lot of promise, but he's still just a prospect at the moment. The way some of you build him up as this fighter that has everyone at 147 petrified is ridiculous.Comment
