Comments Thread For: Thurman Shakes Head at Brook, Expects Spence To Get IBF Belt

WBA welterweight champion Keith Thurman (27-0, 22 KOs) is still shaking his head at Kell Brook's decision to jump up by two weight divisions to challenge IBO/WBA/WBC/WBO middleweight champion Gennady 'GGG' Golovkin last month.

Kell will learn the lesson that a drained Roy Jones Jr. learned from Tarver.

Funny how he loves the idea of brook vs Spence or brook vs Thurman. However he didn't mention the idea of Thurman vs Spence lol.

Yeah, was thinking it too. Maybe he'll want to unify, but then again would be on how he got the belt. Notice he said Spence will get the belt from a non champion. He's already downplaying his title and he hasn't even won it yet.

TRANSLATION: I don't want it with Spence. I hope Kell derails him so I don't have to fight the guy.

I wasn't too high on Brook after the awful hugging tactics he employed in the Porter fight but he really impressed in the GGG fight. I think he could of beat anyone at 147 minus Thurman/Garcia which I saw as 50-50. Now that he busted his eye, not so much.

And I agree with Thurman - Brook shouldn't of jumped up two classes, that was just ****** and unnecessary on his part. Being the good boxer and athlete that he is, he could of dominated WW and called out Mayweather instead of destroying his eye/career against GGG.

Thurman and Danny Garcia should just retired, they aint boxing no more. Al haymon got tired of paying them to fight bums. They dont have money other wise the big fight had already been made by now. This boxers nowdays expect to be payed like mayweather, even Canelo which he isnt.

kell is a fighter and he was never going to turn down a fight like golovkin, I sort of blame Hearn for offering the fight and putting him in that position... Hopefully he bounces back

Only if he comes back to 147lbs immediately. At 154lbs, he'll have no problem at all, IMO.
