As of right now, HBO has no ground to stand on. They can't even may a Golovkin vs Canelo fight happen. Not to mention BOTH those guys had horrible fights that didn't belong on HBO this year. IN FACT, Golovkin had 2.

Funny that you mention that because he was big upping Golovkin as the best P4P fighter in the sport based on how difficult he is to beat just before he went on this rant.

Literally only competitive fight was Ali vs Vargas. PBC flopped but not cause HBO8s good.

I'm a big fan of the pbc model and I think they had a tremendous 2015 where HBO couldn't compete at all.

When it comes to 2016 though, I think HBO made better fights despite their budget cuts and PPVs, Crawford vs Postol was a good matchup, Kovalev vs Ward is a good matchup, Ali vs Vargas, Vargas vs Salido, Lomachenko vs Walters is a tremendous matchup, Chocolatito vs Cuadras and so on, PBC produced good fights but except for Thurman vs Porter, there were no great matchups where u have 2 top fighters fighting and therefore the intrigue was really gone.
