Thurman was not a champion when Spence called him out last year, Mayweather still had that belt and promised Thurman a shot at him if he beat Spence, and Thurman came out guns blazing with excuses.

Thurman has been a champion since January 2015. He's got the same title now as he did then. Even if he wasn't a champion, most people considered him in the top 5, Spence was 18/19-0 when he was calling out Thurman and every other top fighter at welterweight, it's what he's supposed to do. Nobody took it seriously and rightly so, there was nothing to gain from fighting him and there still isn't.

As soon as he gets that IBF belt, I guarantee you he's gonna start getting fights he wants. This is how boxing has always worked. A prospect doesn't get a shot at the top dogs simply because he wants it, he has to work his way up like every other fighter, Spence is no different.

I like him too, he's solid all-round and seems like a sound guy outside of the ring, but he's definitely not ****ing with the top dogs at 147. He would just about make my top 10 at 147 and that's only cos he's got a belt

Totally agree with you , also I don't dig fight fans calling a fighter a bum, not kool. Vargas was getting whip by Bradley &then he hurts bradley in the last few seconds of the last round. I like Vargas, but your assessment that, at the moment, of all the champions he is at the bottom of the food chain I don't think he beats Garcia, Brook & Thurman.

Well the guy certainly isn't low on overblown ego. I'd say he would lose to Garcia, since Danny is able to step it up a bit to adjust. Brook beats him handily. Vargas he probably beats. Spence he avoids forever. And it seems he's loving being another of what I call Haymon's Vacation Fighters. Just fight every once in a while, it's ok. Al luvs giving loooonnnnggg vacations to his guys.
