If it's free HBO I wouldn't mind seeing Canelo make his Middleweight debut against Monroe Jr. He would give Canelo issues with his foot speed and Defense but I think Canelo would eventually knock him out.

If it's Pay Per View there's no way in hell this fight would sell.

There's nothing to be scared of. But i'm not mad, he's trying to talk his way in to a big fight. Canelo gains nothing from beating Monroe, not a good name, not money, not titles, not recognition, not respect from fans. Absolutely nothing. Complete waste of time and money

Monroe tries to fight with a slick style, only problem is he lacks the speed, footwork, skill level and defence to do so.

canelos not scared of munroe as such, but it would look pretty bad if he gave canelo a lot of problems, which i think he would. Munroes a pretty underrated fighter on this site

Styles would make this a boring fight. Both guys want to counter punch. It would go 12 and Canelo would win a close fight by a head scratching lopsided decision.

I like the matchup, but doubt GBP would do it, it could turn into a Alvarez vs Lara 2.0, not that I rank Monroe as high as Lara by anymeans but he's a slick tricky dude.

Monroe isn't a bad fighter at all, he is fairly skilled, but he is crazy if thinks he beats Canelo, he doesn't bring anything that Trout or Lara didn't had.

I don't think it is fear, Canelo trainers was very respectful but them like most of the fans are not crazy about the stylistic match up for that one. I love skilled boxers and really have no problem with Monroe Jr style BUT I could understand why casuals and others don't care for it because Monroe don't look to hurt his opponent at all, he kinda just slaps to score points but he doesn't throw punches with force at all and he doesn't stand on his punches so he can be able to move after landing

I think Monroe Jr vs Tureano Johnson would be a solid fight though or him being a step up for someone like Sergiy Derevyanchenko. Most entertaining fight I seen Monroe Jr in was probably the Vera fight on Friday Night Fights, because Vera came forward the entire fight, yeah he got countered the entire fight but at least Vera tried. But if people sit back like Rosado did and try to box with Monroe Jr then he will always when that style. Although "BORING" Monroe is extremely skilled.
