I can accept Lara is a better boxer than Saunders (obviously) but BJS is bigger and Canelo's feet are slow.

It would be competitive IMO. Weird how a lot of posters have all of a sudden reverted to the all Brits are bums sentiment based on a welterweight getting splattered and a European level fighter losing against an elite fighter. Nonsense. Worst still without those two putting themselves out there - what exactly would we have had to watch over the last few months? All these British champions with world title belts are different levels. Some of them aren't really world class - judge them on their own merits. Lee Haskins will lose soon and someone will tell us how a 34-year-old European level bantamweight was exposed despite having already lost 3 times.

Saunders for all his faults is both a genuine talent and a genuine middleweight. Golden Boy will pursue the weakest champion which BJS is but he could still beat Canelo.
Great post. The "reasoning" behind some of the comments in this thread is hilarious!

Duh... Smith is a Brit and Canelo KO'd him. BJS is also a Brit, so that means Canelo will KO him too.

Duh ... one Brit fighter just got beat by GGG and another one got beat by Canelo ... that means all Brit fighters are bums.

UK still has more world champions than the whole of north and south America combined ... duh .. my brain hurts ...

Saunders is the most sought after fighter in the world right now. JAcobs, Canelo, and GGG have all tried to get a crack at his belt! He's gonna get paid by someone!

Bjs would probably be a better fight than Lara because he actually comes to fight. He's probably not durable too taken shots from actual mw.

I think bjs is really good but he's not getting a decision over canelo on us soil so I don't know how he wins.

That's not a typo! Saunders record is nothing but smoke and mirrors fighting no named bums in the UK. Hard core boxing fans don't even know most of these guys you fought and the fight before your title shot you faced a guy who didn't win 29 of his pro fights. Typical euro fraud without a single elite skill set that will get ripped in half by the first top fighter he faces. Class matter in boxing Canelo, GGG, etc are more proven against higher class opponents.
You may prove to be one of the most ****** posters on this forum. I don't even have to break down why you are, just know that your essays are a waste. Bum this bum that.

He's right - his style is all wrong for Canelo. He's much faster than Canelo, has great footwork and can take a decent punch as shown in the Eubank Jr fight. He's got the skills and ring IQ to outbox Canelo and avoid taking too much punishment.

I'd go with BJS winning on the cards if Canelo doesn't have the usual "luck" with the judges.

Liam Smith went 9 rounds because he kept his forearms in front of his face. Ultimately, a brutal body shot paralyzed him. If Saunders decides to hide his face like that, he will go 10 or maybe 11 rounds, if not he might be in for a beat down. He won't go 5 rounds if he fights Golovkin.

Saunders is a good boxer. Whether or not he is a fighter remains to be seen. Canelo has been a professional since he was 15 and has fought several world class fighters. Skinny Steve, I he were a coward, I suspect he would be posting silly comments on this website instead of getting in the ring.
