They both actually throw that shot a lot. It will be interesting who will be more effective with it.

The thing that makes me lean towards Kovalev is that Ward is relies heavily on that left hand for offense. He is a natural lefty so his rear hand power shot doesn't have much on it. Against Decent to Good fighters/champions that is enough for him because he is very good defensively.

Against A elite level fighter like Kovalev though that might not be enough. Kovalev is a two handed fighter. He can hurt you with either hand and he knows how to set up his power shots.

Cotto, De la hoya, Barrera. These guys lead with their strong hand and again they beat good fighters and are HOFamers but in some of their biggest fights against the true elites you can clearly see their weakness of not having a strong rear hand and having to rely heavily on their strong lead hand.

Ward is very accurate when he throws his right hand but it doesn't have much pop on it and he is not confident in throwing it. He's going to need to throw more of that to keep Kovalev's offense under control.

I agree in center of the ring Krusher is the king.

Oh i'm not doubting Kov's boxing ability. He knows how to keep guys on the end of his punches and he maximizes his power as well as anyone out right now. His one problem in this fight is he'll have a slight advantage in length against a guy with faster hands and better timing. Ward is also a master feinter. Feints bothered Kov a lot in the Chilemba fight. If it becomes a chess match or a battle of jabs, it's hard for me to see Kov winning that way.

I think Kova win in distance 8/10 ,i wouldt even block wards jab if im Siergiej ,Ward is trying to open you up with it,and he dont have power to hurt with that punch,i agree that Ward will Faith alot but i think he wants to take fight to inside where he is master and he can drop Kova,if he will trade jabs on the canter of the ring he will go down and KOed IMO.

Ward's got a good jab to the body himself.

The battle of the jab will be interesting.

Ward has to time his jab and counter Kovalev's jab with his own. I think he can do that.

I think he will take fight to inside if he can ,i dont think he can beat Sergiej on distance ,like i said before if i would be Kova i would never block wards jab to the body i would knew he want to open me ,I would avoid inside where Ward is master,i think we wont see battle of jabs ,Ward will Faith a Lot and close the distance.

I could definitely see that and Ward will have the advantage inside but I think Ward to pick his spots when to smother and work inside.

I think Ward will box from the outside and I think he will have a lot of success there.

Ward is the better boxer IMO.
