I wonder, if Ward wins, would people still think that he needs to fight GGG or if they would even want that fight to happen. Obviously, if he loses bad, he should go back to 168 and hopefully that fight can be made at 164.Comment

The guy is German, but he's just responding to your tirade. I'd agree. I like fighters for their ability, just as the German guy says. What's wrong with that? Does every f ing thing have to be about race? I've said it before a few times... plenty of great fighters from all races, nationalities, you name it.Comment

not true at all. why can't kov win by decision? this type of mentality gives the advantage to ward and people will score the roudns to him simply because he's not getting knocked out. same exact thing happened in floyd-pac. people said pac will win by ko or floyd by decision yet it was pac who was outboxing floyd and landing the much cleaner punches while floyd's came up short or didn't connect very clean yet he was still given rounds because he was in control whatever that means. dont know how you can be in control when your opponent is landing more and better punches but when you go into a fight with a preconcieved notion of how it will play out you will effect how you see it.
kov has outboxed better opponents than ward so im not sure why ward gets the super amazing boxer label and not kov. hopkins, pascal, and chilemba are more skillfull boxers than kessler, froch, and abraham. those guys are all very predictable, they are tough and they have power but they don't have the skills/movement/timing of the guys kovalev beat.Comment

I don't know about that. I think Kovalev is a seriously dangerous guy. I also think the fact that Ward didn't say hello to him, as silly as it is, might push a guy like him over the edge. The Kovalev personality is extremely fragile to that kind of disrespect and I think he's going to make Ward pay for it. Ward is very skilled and he's going to need all that talent to protect himself that night.Comment

Your first paragraph essentially disqualifies you as an objective boxing fan. Your second paragraph confirms this disqualification (The ruling on the field is confirmed!). I would choose Dawson, Froch, and Kessler as Ward's top 3 opponents. Pascal lost to Froch but beat Dawson (although if you watched that fight, you know that Pascal was lucky the doctor stopped the fight because of the cut from a headbutt). Hopkins was 49 when he fought Kovalev and lost to Dawson. Now, Chilemba has better defense than Kessler and Froch, but his offense is not on par. We saw Chilembe frustrate and outbox Kovalev at times, but never mount a sustained effective attack. In conclusion, I would slightly favor Ward's top 3 opponents.Comment
