My call on Kovalev vs Ward

Kovalev's movement and range control is certainly a key factor, and one thing that sets him apart from many of his LHW contemporaries and Wards previous top opponents. He's also - relatedly - somewhat less predictable than guys like Froch or Kessler which will certainly make Wards job harder, though Dre is a master at reading and timing opponents.

Honestly can't make a confident prediction though.

Most people here thought that Kovalev is just a one dimensional puncher, but he's not. The way he uses his left to neutralize the opponent like in the Hopkins and Pascal fight. Ward ain't gonna get in the inside without eating a left hand on the way in, he might get dropped or stopped if he gets caught lunging in for the clinch. Kovalev's movement is underrated as hell...

Read the OP. He says he watched their last 5 fights each then just gives vague reasoning why Kovalev will win like "he has fast feet". To make this thread worth while he should at least point out key moments in the fights that he watched that prove his statements.

Kind of the way I see it, Ward is not gonna have the success on the inside he has had in the past. I do think Ward is probably the most durable and definitley the best fighter Kovalev has ever faced. if i know that you know Kovalev knows it.
