  • My call on Kovalev vs Ward

Initially I thought Kovalev puts it on Ward for 12 hard and possibly Kovalev stops him.

Ive spent the day watching each of these guys last 4-5 fights. Ive always said Golovkin technically is better than Kovalev and he his but Kovalev moves better on his feet. This is key, Kovalev is quick moving in or out and Ward isnt going to be as strong as him on the inside. Kovalev will use his legs and that stiff jab to break Ward down. Ward will get caught in the first or second and shut down, Sergay will dictate this fight. If Ward opens up too much he will get stopped.

Dont get mad at me, go watch their fights.

I personally think Kovalev beats the **** out of Golovkin if he ever tries LHW which there is no reason for him to go that high. Golovkin is like Hagler, he is topped out in the division he started in. He can go SMW and probably unify there but he needs to stay away from the LHW division imo.

My call is that Kovalev isn't going to let Andre Ward get on the inside in the clinch. He would use his left jab to neutralize Andre's from spoiling whenever he would try lunge on Kovalev when he is in the corner. Once Ward tries to lunge, Kovalev backs off and follows up with a left Jab or left hook and drops him like he did against BHOP.

Going in for Kovalev TKO at 10

You can book mark it all you want Im not saying it cant go the other way. Ill be the first to say I was wrong if Ward pulls it off. The question is will you bump this thread if he dont?

            I bet you wont.

I don't want to take anything away from Kovalev by saying it but Ward is not the same fighter he was all those years back at SMW. He just isn't his offense these days is almost non existent. He has no right hand.

I don't think he 'Krushes' him I am picking Kovalev and I think by decision.

                Cool story bro.
Why did you feel the need to make this thread? It seems like you're looking for approval and reassurance.

Kovalev's movement and range control is certainly a key factor, and one thing that sets him apart from many of his LHW contemporaries and Wards previous top opponents. He's also - relatedly - somewhat less predictable than guys like Froch or Kessler which will certainly make Wards job harder, though Dre is a master at reading and timing opponents.

Honestly can't make a confident prediction though.
