Depends which version of Naz. Prime Naz from '95-'97 could have beaten Marquez and even stopped him, he was exceptional. The Naz that fought Barrera would have likely lost the same way he did that fight.
It's a shame we never got to see it, same with Hamed vs. Morales.

Naz was fast, the best reflexes in the game at the time and could punch. If damn Norwood can beat Marquez at FW, what you think Naz would do?

Plus, when Naz was wrecking 126, Marquez wasn't even in his prime, that didn't happen till 02/03, when he got his second world title shot.

Prime Naz over the 98/99 version of JMM all day and twice on Sundays.
I agree, they probably compare it to Nazeem vs Barrera, he was a done fighter. Marquez great against agressors who come at him and stay stable, but he don't like slicks.
His first real loss was against Freddie Norwood, a slick southpaw.
PLus Nazeem had power and MArq gets down frequently.
        Naz win over KD points.

Yeah I see it that way too. Anytime naz and jmm could have fought realistic would have been between 98/99, and that version of jmm was not ready for any top, primed fighter.

I thought Marquez deserved the decision over Norwood.

why is it every time that JMM ever lost, it was a bad decision. Norwood was superior throughout much of the fight, i twas pretty clear. As was JOhn beating him and although the 2 Pac fights were close, it was Pac who actually got robbed in the first fight.

This. Let's not pretend he was prime against Barrera, he was done by then. In his prime he was an excellent boxer and counterpuncher, JMM's ass would have hit the floor more times than in his fights with Pacquiao.
