Naz was fast, the best reflexes in the game at the time and could punch. If damn Norwood can beat Marquez at FW, what you think Naz would do?

Plus, when Naz was wrecking 126, Marquez wasn't even in his prime, that didn't happen till 02/03, when he got his second world title shot.

Prime Naz over the 98/99 version of JMM all day and twice on Sundays.
Like you say,the Naz of the time was a very tricky boxer when he wanted to be ,and Marquez at that time didn't have a clue against Norwood.I think Naz on points.

I would go with Dinamita,Timing and Counters could do the job,i saw a video of Nasim trainer telling him to stay away from Marquez (Emanuel Steward) and he was right IMO ,Nasim is no faster than Pacman and Jmm found a way to couter him big time with right hand many times in they fights.

Because many of the decisions that have gone against him have been dubious at best. I consider the Norwood one the worst of the lot. He struggled in the fight but he still outboxed the negative, spoiling Norwood.

I'm not even a fan of the guy; he is actually the one who ducked the Hamed fight when it was offered to him. But I'm not going to pretend he hasn't had the raw end of the deal with relation to decisions going against him.

That must be why hamed avoided marquez for 2 years when marquez was his mandatory.

And why Marquez promptly ducked the fight when it was offered to him.

That Norwood decision was a gift. JM deserved that win , Norwood was waiting for JM to lead which made it boring cause JM doesn't lead. Hamed wouldn't wait he'll lunge in with power shots off balance and get countered viciously.

On a second thought, i dont think this fight js some foregone conclusion.

As i mentioned earlier, marquez early in his career was a very defensive minded fighter, borderline boring. He wasnt the type to take chances and take the fight to Hamed like Barrera did.

This fight might look alot closer than people think and this is coming from a hardcore marquez fan.

Yep i just think that Marquez would cought Naz with something sooner or later,Naz fought with good fighters in MAB and Kelley and he was tagged in both fights 3x down vs Kelley.
