Whoever hurts the other guy more should win. A bunch of weak punches do nothing and a bunch of aggression with no connect does nothing. If you have one guy who is missing more but is landing heavy shots and another guy who is more efficient but ain't hurting a fly go with the guy with more heavy shots
should aggression be rewarded more than it currently is

yeah i agree with both of you, people shouldnt get points for just walking forward, but people should be penalised for running too much. And 'power punches' get scored too easy, you can throw a right hook with no power or weight behind it and it gets scored as a power punch, when it shouldnt do. Landing a few taps to the face and body should not equal winning a round.Whoever hurts the other guy more should win. yeah ward v kessler was one of my reasons for doing the thread. How can you hold someone (you hold someone to stop a fight) 88 times, and that means youve won the fight? Its a piss take, i can understand if you are wobbled and holding on as its an instinct, but to actively clinch as a tactic? That isnt boxing to me...Comment

Boxing basically scores a punch that has the power of a jab but would score it as a power punch because it was a hook....yeah i agree with both of you, people shouldnt get points for just walking forward, but people should be penalised for running too much. But the Clinching man.....I say boxing rules would be enforced, hard. Refs that doesn't penalize fighters after 5-7 clinches in 1 round should be fired. We don't want an another Ward-Kessler 88 clinch fight, or Floyd-Maidana 71 clinch fight or the Floyd-Pacquiao 46 clinch fight.Comment

noone tunes into the sport to see clinching, noone says after the fight, 'i was entertained, saw some really good clinches in that fight' people want to see people trading shots, not hugging each other.Boxing basically scores a punch that has the power of a jab but would score it as a power punch because it was a hook....

Exactly. It's blatantly obvious where this post is coming from and why. Despite the fact that said "boring fighters" have never had any visible damage outside of the occasional bloody nose. So clearly that aggression is ineffective. No, that shouldn't be scored any differently.im sick of seeing fights in which someone wins a decision by fighting negatively, spoiling and landing punches with no weight behind them. Often people who fight against these boring fighters, dont look as if theyve even been in a fight at the end of it.
...
So my question is, should judges place more of an emphasis in their scoring, on aggression and landing powerful punches?
Fighters have to adapt. Your "normal" flow not working should be a clue to change it up.Comment
,but it doesnt change the fact that CompuBox is not accourate and fair system by any means .
