i dont think they really have a style that you can pick out from the rest. some of them fight defensive while some come at you with no defense.

I go to kanagawa high school boxing tournaments when I can. The winners in each weight class have a big tournament to pick a champ.
One thing I do want to point it is that many of the best were trouble makers in school and were sent to special schools, where many learned boxing at an early age.
I used to go a few nights a week to the Taiken guy in Tokyo and hit the bag etc. but only did a little sparing. I'm too old now. But, I'm on friendly terms with a few of the trainers.
Also, a lot of great fighters come from Kobe, local guys, like the kameda brothers.

Last year’s heroes won gold medals in the Japanese High School Championships
The Japanese High School Championships was held in the city of ***ushima which was a new venue in the country’s boxing life. The competition was scheduled for the youth athletes and it was a selection event for the ASBC Asian Confederation Youth Boxing Championships which will be held in Pavlodar, Kazakhstan in May.
Women boxers could fight in three weight classes in ***ushima where the best female performance was delivered by 18-year-old Tsukimi Namiki who won the gold medal at the Balkan Women’s Youth Tournament in Sofia, Bulgaria last November. Japan’s biggest woman talent stopped Honoka Seo in the semi-finals and he was able to beat Mei Miyamoto in the gold medal bout of the Women’s Flyweight class (51 kg).
