how would kovalev do against froch?

Consensus is that froch is wards defining win, and 5 years later having fought noone of note since, ward is still considered P4P top 5 by most, and many see him as the best fighter in the sport.
Ward beat froch 115-113 on two scorecards, so by definition that means he just edged it and there wasnt much between the two fighters.
So,im interested to know, how do people think kovalev would do against froch? Would he do better than beating froch by 1 round? Are froch and ward levels above the krusher?

Kovalev would smash Froch to pieces simple as that, Killer Kov is the better boxer, harder puncher and smarter fighter. Maybe the only advantage Froch would have is stamina.

Froch was an over achiever, he didn't do any thing astounding. He was just kind of a well rounded fighter. I have a feeling If Kovalev could touch him clean like Groves did it would have ended right then and there. He might have gotten up but he would finish him imo. Froch gets bigger up around here.

yeah, i find it interesting that froch is seen as some amazing win by ward having beat him by one round, and is supposedly seen as proof he is a level above kovalev, yet i would imagine kovalev would just walk straight through froch in a few rounds, but this same guy kovalev has no chance against the guy who sc****d past froch lol

Yes the fight was so close Froch stated himself why should he bother facing Ward again in a fight he would lose. 115-113 judges would sure have benefited seeing the fight from the same monitors I saw it from. 116-112 would have been generous to Froch then again it matters little as Ward was doing what he had to to win the fight regardless had he have won 115-114 the right man won and that's that.

I think Kovalev is clearly a level above Froch and Ward is a level above Krusher. Andre takes a punch as Froch does all these guys have durability, Kovalev is the biggest hitter and he's a superior skilled boxer to Froch only Ward is clearly a better boxer than them all.

Froch is a great win especially in the manner in which he won, Kovalev has equally as good wins possibly though I feel the BHOP and Pascal wins were over faded forces where the fight may have been different in the Hopkins fight if he wasn't ten years removed from his prime, Froch could be argued he was in his prime but then I'm not really sure what his prime was, I feel it was when Ward fought him.

Ward put on a clinic. Not sure if Kovalev kos him though. Froch can make fights real ugly.

Amazing as in defeating a guy Kessler showed the blueprint how to defeat or not so amazing but a good win over a fiercely competitive extremely conditioned tough good boxer. Froch's boxing talent is under rated, the way he shut Kessler out in the rematch before Mikkel found a way to irk his way back in due to his own fiercely competitive nature.

If it wasn't for the dirty tactics I'd consider Ward's win over Mikkel a far more impressive win. He completely shut him out and I feel Kessler in his prime was better than Froch.

Froch is lucky that knockdown happened at the end of the round. he was gone.
